You Are Going to Die.

Not a new killer video game, but rather a rhetorical question.


You go to the doctor and they tell you that you have 7 days to live. Afterwards you go home to handle everything. Tell your family, your boss, handle your finances and et cetera. And then you make plans to go on some crazy journey that might kill you before you actually die, or just to stay home with your loved ones. But, before that you're left with one question.

What do I do with my video game collection?

Your collection is defined by a bit of a broad term. Anything you have a physical copy of, any systems you own counting your computer, anything on your computer computer game wise, and anything you have to download, like stuff from stream.

So, what do you do with it? Do you sell it all for as much money as possible and fund your journey? Or to give to your family? Do you give it to someone in your family or someone you know like a friend so that it is "kept in the family"? Ask for someone to store it because you're too selfish to allow anyone but yourself to have your stuff? Or something else entirely?


I myself would go for a mix between option 2 and 3. I would look for someone who could meet my standards in taking care of things making sure they wouldn't beat the games to hell destroying the case, manual and stuff, or throwing the disc around or using it like a coaster like 80% of the people who sell their games to GameStop do, if I could find no person that could meet my standards by the 6th day I would then go for the following option.

I would gather everything together and start working on basically a time capsule. Taking care to secure and preserve everything in my collection to the best possible possibility so that everything could last so that everything could last far longer than if they were just out in the open. And then I would find a big giant "chest" like thing possibly those coffins that are made to preserve dead bodies longer, and I would find a place to place them obviously. Somewhere where they wouldn't be found right away. Maybe found in 10 years, 100 years, 1000 years, something like that. If my little collection happened to be found in something like 100+ years maybe it'll be put into a museum or something, or maybe some future kid even with their PSXBOXSUPERWII100100100 will find it and enjoy all the classics despite them being dated.


So, what would you do with your video game collection?

doesn't matter, i have brothers who would dig it out and use it anyways :S

worst part is this is my serious answer.

Nothing. Just leave it to my family i guess. i'm not the kind of guy that would make a lot of preparations before death or anything because im going to be dead anyway.

Give it to family and friends.

Try to keep it in the family, so they have great stuff to play in them future years. I'll see if I can leave a posthumous note in my computer/system saying to take care of it, or I'll haunt them forever.

Give it away, of course. Although I doubt that many future generations would play it, as the video game industry is evolving rapidly.
