you can get to lvl 100 in 2 days if you grind right, then just spend $1000 and be strong, then just go to LHC and train to lvl 150 in a week or so, then when you are lvl 150 you can solo every boss of the game(beside PB), I don't see how "more complex" it is now lol.
Leveling Speed != Complexity. There's no relation.
In fact, the Potential system has added the most complexity out of anything they've ever added. There's so many different possibilities for equipment due to it (Though the only ones people care about are +2x% main stat >_>). Honestly, the entire system would be a whole lot better off if there wasn't +Stat%, and it just had all kinds of crazy buffs they could add, like active spells (Like Haste for non-haste characters), damage negation, etc.
It's not our fault that the "proz" only focus on certain aspects, but the game certainly has a good amount of complexity, especially when you look at the intricacies. You just don't see it when all people care about is +27% stat gear, 80 star gear, and anything that just makes the grind easier.

Certain aspects? There's barely any to begin with, nevertheless the game's main point is leveling / grinding. I dunno how you can label off the main aspect as such without grouping the entire playerbase. Unless you want me to believe that cockamamie dribble of calling Maple an "Interactive version of MSN / FB", in which case, you're playing the wrong game and should be playing lol2ndLife.

The main point of the game IS leveling/grinding, but that doesn't mean the game isn't/can't be complex, and there's certainly some interesting aspects to the Potential system, regardless of how much people only care about how much it will make them even more overpowered.
If Potential didn't have +% to stat buffs, I bet people would be more caring about the other things it can give. The problem is that if you get a +21-27% main stat on your equipment, there's no possible way you'd ever turn that away, or anything remotely near it. Since it's such a massive boost, people always aim for it, regardless of how interesting/effective/useful any other potential can give. Let's face it, +2x% of your main stat is just impossible to beat, and therein lies the issue.

You know, I dont really miss old maple that much. I started after ludi came out and the thing that always bothered me is that Tauromacis, Taurospears, Jr Balrog, and Crimson Balrog are still, imo, the most badass looking monsters in the game. I mean, HT is also up there, and Zak is cool i guess, but its like they just decided to make everything else look far too cartoony for my liking

I miss pre-potential Maple Story when you were invited to groups because you spent time farming and scrolling good gear. I don't like that to get anywhere with potential you have to spend a massive amount of time farming mesos to buy cubes off of another player or pay for yourself. There are characters out there that can deal 2-3x more damage than I can even at lower levels. It really destroyed the concept of fun for me. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love the rebalances and extra content. I just think potential was quite possibly the worse move for a game whose promise was "paying for NX items will not give an advantage to those who do not pay."

I miss how maple was based on how lucky you were with scrolls and such. One scroll could change you from rich or poor, the risk factor was exciting and it felt great that everyone had the same chance you did, even if they were rich with NX, it didn't stop items from being able to boom. White scrolls were rare as pineapple. I miss how maple was before the 2h 50s exploit and pre-potential. If you rewind time and take those two events away, you get most of the old maple back, entirely.

It was nice until potential which litteraly made my godlike equips complete crap, being a lukless mage... And then big bang... ewww... Made my A/M completely useless... Not even good at 1vs1 and lost mobbing ability...
Seriously, I'd prefer going back to like .55 or something around that...

I miss when I got invited to HT groups and I was nervous.
Oh wait. I dc'ed because my computer wasn't from 1990 with windows XP, and the one computer I did have with WXP on it white screened at any lag bump.
I miss the 7th grade I missed out on.
