As some of you may know, I go to a highschool that lets us study a trade, and i'm in the electromechanics shop. Considering I have 3 more years left of time to do my own personal projects. I've been trying to think of something cool that can feasibly be done. We have a ton of supplies provided and lying around the shop, and anything that isn't I could go to the junkyard or dump and root around for something to use. We have a lot of tools to use, too, and I believe we have a machine that can form metal, although i'm not sure it has been turned on in a while.
I have a few things in mind:
For the sentry gun, I really do want to do a scale sentry gun, much like the one gifted to valve, but i'd need much more knowledge then I currently have to make it, so I need to wait for this to be possible. For the dispenser i'd likely need a mini-fridge and some sort of vending machine to scrap for parts (and to see how they work so I could incorporate them). The button wouldn't make sense without being full scale, but at full scale it's hard to fit it anywhere. I also wouldn't have a chance to use it unless I had my own house or business where I could rig it, so i'd probably donate it to valve for brownie points. The Camera seems like a very good option, but the motion sensor that makes it move would be the hard part of it. The Radio would just be an external shelter for the SDR Radio i'm going to get for my PC eventually. The Turret would also have the same issue as the Sentry Gun, on top of having some issues making an internal chassis that'd fit in the rounded shell. The "gun" part of it would have problems too, as it'd also take up a lot of internal space.
Comments? New suggestions of cool stuff from games? Need to use all this stuff I have access to while I still can.
