I think it's great that a Tales game will be one of the first (j)RPGs on the 3DS. Hopefully it will get a lot of sales. And please release it in Europe.

This is one of my favourite games of all time. I've been excited for it since I heard it was in development. Though I won't be pleased if they don't add some major exclusives.

I'm in. I've never had a chance to play Abyss anyways. The most recent Tales I played was Symphonia. I've been really out of the loop since I don't own any of the more recent consoles. Sucks.

According to Nintendo Power there isn't going to be anything new. They are going to reduce the loading times and improve the world map(framerate). And I'll say it again, they better release it in Europe (though I think they will because back when Abyss was first released they just didn't have a publisher or something for Europe).

Oh, I won't be buying it then. I already own the game on the PS2, why the pineapple would I want to own a carbon copy on the 3DS? I don't understand why they'd even bother porting this if they aren't going to bother adding anything besides THREE DEE which is an eyesore. Eat plantain, Bandai.

There is one exclusive thing it being portable!!!1!! lol...Eh oh well a slightly improved port is better in some ways than a majorly changed port mostly because it doesn't mess up the flow of everything and say screw you to the owners of the original but those are my thoughts on that. Since the 3DS is region locked apparently I hope it comes out in Europe for them to play it as well.

Yeah, I guess they're mainly doing this to have one of the first RPGs on the 3DS and to reach more people(it's been 5 years since the original release and Europe didn't get it).

And since we're talking about Tales, there's some more news about Xillia. Awesome.

I don't think a re-release YEARS later says "screw you" to PS2 owners at all. In fact, I think it's quite the opposite. All things should evolve over time so when something gets ported to a new system with greater/different capabilities, not capitalizing on that is saying "screw you" to the 3DS owners.

I loved TotA for the PS2! Can't wait for it to hit the 3DS.
All we need now is a ToS1 release on the 3DS and we're set for life.

Don't expect too much from Namco Bandai. When they ported ToE to the PSP, they didn't add any new contents in that either. I would know, I finished the game.

This still doesn't make me want to get a 3DS, though I'll probably end up buying one anyway. And if/when I do, I'll definately get this. Absolutely. Better loading times + anime clips put in = imokaywiththis.jpg

This. They're usually big on adding new stuff for their ports too. What jackasses.

To correct one thing the series is made by Namco which merged with Bandai I believe so it is Namco-Bandai now. And about ports they usually add nothing ports are for releasing a game again for the next generation to enjoy or for people who missed out on the first release to get it new.

Namco-Bandai adds stuff to the ports of some of them when they release them for a different console no idea why but the period of time they are released is usually 2 years or so after the initial release on one system the next system which it gets released on is usually more powerful or has more storage for data so it gets a lot or a bit of extra content. Tales of the Abyss was released quite a while back usually games released in the last generation don't get extras normally for ports unless the game is remade.

I think it's great that more people can experience this game as it was before now on the 3DS. If all this doesn't make sense meh.

Edit: Deleted and added to first post.

Besides this one I can't think of a single Tales of game that has been ported and NOT had extras added.

Says hi...I was pretty much saying if they release a port a year or two after the first release it has extra content otherwise no
