Video editing tools
#1
I recently recorded a video with FRAPS, and I'd like to do a voice-over commentary on it. Are there any easy-to-learn, easy-to-acquire tools for doing that?

Well, i use Sony Vegas PRO for editing videos, but i guess its not cheap too, 500-700 bucks or so.
With Vegas you can do quite a lot of stuff and it has tutorials how to edit things right and the tutorials explains everything
step by step, on youtube there also exist even more tutorial for Sony Vegas.

Yeah, I don't have 500 bucks in my budget for a few projects and some Youtube videos. Maybe 50 tops; ideally I'd like to spend nothing.

Edit: This isn't something that has to look professional, just clean and not direct FRAPS feed. I don't need fancy transitions, just something that's easy to use and lets me go to different parts of a video and talk over them. I've tried using Windows Movie Maker but it sucks ass.

I believe you can do that with fraps .. the other day i was making a video and when i checked the audio i could hear when i was typing .. just play with the settings idk how to explain but fraps also records mic sounds ..
Mine says "Record External input" i think thats the one u should have configured, with this u should be able to record ur voice while making a video o.o
I'm using version 3.2.3 Build 11796

It's quite awkward to comment on your gameplay video WHILE you play. You normally do that after, so you have time to analyze things and prepare your text.

Possibly making a few videos for my job, too, so not sure I want to be using anything bootleg.

I just use i-Movie so...

Also define "editing", if you mean some basic movie clip management then "windows movie maker" should do.
