"While we consider our options, we want to hear from you. What would encourage you to move out of Scania?"
Where should I begin...
I guess, what would really make me wanna leave Scania would be if the entire world was one big KS-War/Hackfest.
Oh wait... That's why I'm in Windia... Because at 3am eastern time, when the kids have gone to bed, you can actually get an MP3 map with just one other person in it.
On the subject of underpopulated worlds:
"Weve tried a variety of methods over the past year to alleviate this population balance issue without a server merge. Weve reorganized the world select screen. [...]"
To what? Try to trick people into going into the wrong world? Grats! You did it! Back when Win 7 machines wouldn't show the world names at all.
" [...] but none of it has been as effective as it needs to be."
This is an example of Nexon focusing on what's really a non-issue, while ignoring the people that DC hack me (and apparently now, GMs too).
"Thats why we developed a system to create world alliances. This allows low population worlds to play with each other without removing the individual character of each world.
The way it works is that both worlds still exist. Theyll remain on the select screen and players will log into them as they always have. Whichever world youre from, youll continue to be from. Whatever benefits you have from that world, youll still have them. The only change is that players from both worlds will be able to play together, form guilds, get married, and generally do all the things players can do with other players in their own world. From the perspective of a player in either world, itll be as though you just had a huge influx of new players into your world. Were really excited about this approach and well be trying it out this month. Stay tuned for an announcement about which worlds will be involved."
I actually kinda like this idea...
I can't wait to see how Nexon fucks it up!
I'm talkin' like literally, edge of my seat here...
What could POSSIBLY go wrong?
(I'm diggin here guys... What COULD go wrong)?
Nexon is gonna have to really turn up the heat if they wanna find a way to make a fail out of such a good idea; but their think-tank is deep my friend, I have faith.
