Why are fire station garage doors usually made of glass?

Not all fire stations have glass garage doors. My guess is simply aesthetic or maybe just to allow more sunlight in.

None of the Fire Stations in my town have glass doors o_o Although they're all kind of old so..
I'm going with the "holy pomegranate we needa get to that fucking fire NOW screw the doors we hav money" reason. |
