Soloing Zak?

Hi. Today I was trying to get few guildies to finish their pre quests but they failed at second JQ.
After a while I decided I'd go alone to notice the expedition member minimum is 5.
I went tons of times pre BB but always with guildies and this would be my first time soloing so I don't know wtp is going on.
I have few questions regarding expedition members:

1. They need to be lv50+, right?
2. Do they need to have zak pre quests done?
3. Do they have to be online? (while googling found someone who said they didn't have to so I need confirmation)
4. Expeditions are similar to parties? What's special about expeditions?
5. Why do I feel like a fucking noob because I don't know how expedition and zak soloing stuff work?

exped makes it impossible for people who aren't supposed to be on the run to sneak on the list and into the run.
