Why Hello There, Zakum
#1
I didn't know you found a new home.

I was channel surfing for Wailord. After cc'ing onto one channel, I was surprised to see Zakum. Before I could react, Zakum went through its dying animation (the falling apart), and all the normal spawn came back into the map. There was a pile of normal spawn etc from in the place of Zakum. I cc'd a few more times, and the second time a Zakum appeared, I was able to use print-screen to snap this nifty portrait of Zakum's relocation.

Must be some sort of hack. I have no idea what is going on.
Wild Hunter hackers have been able to summon Zakum as long as they've been able to summon Pink Bean. They can summon any mob they want. I've seen Horntail as well (just like PB you get it's buff upon death), and many other bosses.

How does that work? Is it intended to be like that?

Either way, spawning Zakum is a bit stupid for those WH hackers, it doesn't even give a buff :I

There are lot of Wild Hunter summon mules that give hackers the free 35watt Pink Bean buff everywhere... I see like 10 per day in Khaini alone...

It's peculiar to see specifically Zakum twice in ToT, a secluded area. If the hacker can attack with Zakum it's one thing, but if he can't, then the only logical conclusion is that Zakum would give him exp wouldn't it? Why else would he be doing that.

Telling how a hack works would be against forum rules, wouldnt it?

This hack is in Resistances catch skill. They manage to packet edit or w/e it, so that they can "catch" any mob they want and then summon it.

For legit players, the summoned monsters take magic attacks if they're in front of the WH...In other words a crappier version of Puppet.
