Just actually read my email confirm:
 Spoiler
Notice the slight difference compared to the item/order page? Looks likes February will be an interesting month.

Another snippet from that:
Target.com Wrote:Despite our best efforts, a small number of the items on our Web site may be mispriced. As part of our shipping procedures, we verify price before an item is shipped out.

If an item's correct price is lower than our stated price, we charge the lower amount and ship you the item.

If an item's correct price is higher than our stated price we will cancel your order and notify you of such cancellation via email.

It was simply conveying the thought, and more than likely the actual truth about what will happen. It wasnt there for "LOL"s or anything of that sort. Im not here to entertain you Justin.

Yes, you are. You're here to entertain everyone.

But really, I was just stating that that image is way too overused...

It's target. You don't even need to look at their policy to know they won't let a slip-up like that go intentionally.

And now both the Amazon and Target links are 404'ing. The 60gb PS3 and the Advanced Shooter Grip are also not showing up in Target searches. I would say they've discovered the problem.

Target email Wrote:Dear Target Guest,

We are contacting you regarding your order #999-9999999-9999999. We recently became aware of mismatched price and product information which resulted in the discontinued Sony PS3 Hardware System and the PlayStation 3 Move Advanced Shooter Grip being displayed incorrectly on both Target.com and Amazon.com.

We are sorry, but we are unable to offer you either of these items at this time and have canceled your order.

Drat, even if it was expected.

I say we who ordered through Amazon insist that there should be some form of compensation and that they should heavily consider removing Target from their list of vendors because of this. I have yet to receive any notification beyond the order confirmation, so I cannot say, but if we put enough pressure on Amazon to get compensation, perhaps they can force Target to be the one who pays at risk of their business partnership.

Sure, there seems to be some sort of statement that protects them from legality online, but it would still be bad practice for such a large and well known company to say the customer was wrong and that a mistake on their behalf shouldn't be honored or compensated for.

Also, sure, I went into this knowing that it was likely too good to be true, but a business is a business. Let's all complain, but be civil about it and we'll likely profit from it. Tis' the American way.

Actually, use that which I've bolded. Target, however, does not consider their patrons to be customers, they are considered "guests" by the employees/staff. This is part of the pre-employment indoctrination. So, saying the customer is always right will backfire as target can turn around and say "but you are not customers, you are guests" and use their legal team to spin liability out from themselves.

Complaint sent and "currently they cannot offer any additional insight or action on this matter".

Taking it into the BBB's hands now to see if there's anything that can be done. I've had a history with Amazon across several thousand dollars over the years, so I'm not ready to give up on some form of compensation just yet.

Going to keep it to myself from this point on however; since if I do manage to get something out of this, they will not be jumping at the opportunity to pay off all the complacent customers.
