Why can't d/c hacking be fixed?

Either Nexon is oblivious, doesn't care, or tried but dc hackers keep updating theirs.
I'm guessing 1 or 2.

Didn't EMS actually fix this by limiting how many lines you can send by the seconds? I remember reading about this months ago.

I believe DC hackers have changed methods since the first time we started having them.

There were ones that involved party invites, whispers, expedition talk, etc.

most d/c hacks are packet spams. i'm no programming whiz but i'm not sure how they can really fix packet editing

The server still has to echo the packets to the victim. If Nexon cared enough, they should be able to detect and not resend spam packets. But apparently they don't think it is important enough to bother with, ie not costing them much lost revenue.

Meh, we've brought this up at least a dozen times.
All they have to do is have the server throttle directed input instead of blindly relaying everything it gets. If input source A sends more than x threshold packets in y milliseconds dump entire buffer & disconnect them. It's not like there's any direct peer to peer communication in Maple, it's all brokered by the server, the server could do it's damn job and protect players from each other.
It's not having what you want - It's wanting what you've got.

Yeah..

What it is is... they get your userid in byte form or something... like your user id would be B0 C6 01 or something. Insert that into the ghost d/c thing and...yeah
