Final Fantasy IV te be remade for the PSP

Random_Overlord Wrote:LOL @ ff6 recycled sprites.

I sure as hell hope it doesn't turn out this way, it's PSP ffs.

Everyone wants the bloody remake to look as modern as it can for the ps3. Good graphcs, good voice acting, and the Awesome developers room in the dwarven pub.

Rob Wrote:Mmm. Interesting. They'll probably go with DS graphics then. I pulled that screenshot out of my ass from some gaming news site.

I'm kinda sure they'll go with the DS graphics.

The DS remake looked good, but they really should have done a better job on it.

Also, looks like they're going to start pulling Nintendos: can't make good new games, so remake old ones.

There are 2 new Final Fantasies coming for the PSP on 2011 though. Agito XIII and Dissidia Duodecim.

Versus XIII should be for the PS3.

Also, it's being discussed if they are going with the old GBA or the DS port. Guess we'll see when January hits.

Crossing my fingers for DS port. Loved the DS graphics, map, voice acting, translation, difficulty, and subtle but still very breakable (if you want it to be) tuning. I actually didn't know that the DS version is (a lot) harder than the original for the Famicom until I compared 'em directly. Although if this just ends up being a reason to put the GBA version and the After Years together, I'll just download the After Years.

This is turning into FF1 Remake Galore, but instead of FF1, it's FF4.

JoeTang Wrote:pineappleing hated FFIV. Was way too hard. Got to the final dungeon, and the final boss basically double turned me before I got to move and killed my entire party. I tried to get the legendary equipment from there, but the same result occurred with those papayagots too. Thus, I ragequit. Mind you, this was ten or so years ago, but still. Bad memories. Especially everyone you recruiting to the party dying.

FFIX's Ozma will make you smash your console then. Ozma ALWAYS double-turns, and may even triple-turn.

Did I mention that, if it happens to cast Curse twice in a row (or Curse after Mini or Curse/Mini then Meteor) you're screwed?

Ozma was a pussy. Sure his shit was strong, but his HP was downright pathetic. I'll call him hard when he comes back with triple HP and maybe a face.

Many of the Final Fantasys are only hard if you have no idea what the enemies do/are weak to/etc. FFIV in particular had a little trick for pretty much every boss that, if you knew it, made the boss go from incredibly infuriating to downright docile. Even Ozma has a very strict attack pattern that's pretty easy to break.

It's because of 20th anniversaries.

It's not always abusing computer AI. Sometimes game mechanics play a far bigger role in breaking the game.

LOOK AT THIS. THE HORROR OF STURDY IN POKEMON GEN IV. Zip to 1:21 to see what I mean.

In Final Fantasy related examples, how about that Vanish + Doom trick to kill anything in FFVI. ANYTHING???????

If you're playing the old FFIV, use the pre-Paladin trick; Grind up Cecil to insane levels before you fight his mirror self to become a Paladin, then when you get your party back, all of them are around your level. Only thing is that this only works on the SNES ver.

It can help if you're not good at RPGs or Final Fantasy in general, lowers the death rate, neh.

The only part of Final fantasy 4 that pissed me off the most was the Elf tunnel.

Then I went into the developer's room later and was like "WEWT!!!"
