Should I get energy blast this early?
#1
I'm currently level 81, I have energy charge, and brawling mastery maxed. Stun mastery is at level 1, why? Because I spam backspin blow as it's pretty much my best skill. Might as well go for an extra 10% rate right?

Anyway, here's my reasons for asking such an insane question:

Maxed transform gives me haste, lower cooldown, and a whopping +20 attack for ALL skills, not just a skill I can only use during energy charge.
Backspin is the most useful attack I've had so far, it rushes, sets up a mob, and pretty much kills them before I even need to use a different attack. In other words, I'm practically surfing across the map like a glorified dual blade using flying assaulter, the invincibility frame is enough to make me use far less pots, and I only had to use 10 SP to get stronger as opposed to 20 for a skill I can only use in energy charge.

Stun mastery, would further increase the power to my backspin blow(although it would do the same for energy blast, that's a whopping 40 SP!).

I could also try getting roll the dice, but I have no faith in luck whatsoever, and currently I'd only be interested in rolling a 4, 5, or 6, I've failed plenty of potential scrolls to know that the fact there is a 1 on the dice means I will be getting it A LOT.

I was thinking of maxing transform first, for the benefit of haste, then get energy blast. That way I can jump-cast it constantly 1-3h koing all the mosters I come across, plus, transform is just fun to use.

At this point is it just primarily based on preference? Seems no matter which path I take, I'm getting the same result. I have looked up the brawler guide posted on this website, but I'd like more of a conversation as to why maxing energy blast so fast might not be such a good idea.

Please note: I do not care for drain anymore since they changed CSB, if I can't train with invincibilty frames, I'd rather just waste pots to kill faster, I also have maxed double upper, as despite what people say it pretty good for me.

Most pople had eergy blast around that level already. It's an AMAZINGLY good skill to have in your arsenal. I haven't been a marauder for a LONG time, so i couldn't know of training style, but I'd go for energy build now.

I can't post a video of me training because I'm poor. But I can currently hit about 14k with backspin blow(critical), this is enough to kill roids in about 1-3 hits(which I do). I also have the benefit of traveling the entire map because backspin blow is spammable now, my problem is I currently see no need for energy blast, but I'm not sure if I'm going to regret that 5 levels later. I'm almost level 82 already as of typing this so even if I do add wrong I guess it doesn't matter too much.

you'll get it eventually anyway. But if stun mastery figures out better for your style of play, then by all means go for it. Remember it is your character AND you already went off the beaten path by going brawling mastery first. You could try 1 charge + 2 blast next level to see how you like it and if you don't like it, then just go on with your build you had originally. If anything, sign on for one more hot-time event to get your points reset (waste of time since you WILL max it later).

Nonono, lol, I maxed energy charge. Transforms weapon attack boost stacks with it, so I end up with +40 weapon attack, or stun mastery for extra crit, or rolling dice for a chance for both and 30% extra EXP. Either way, it makes my backspin blow stronger, I just want to know from another post-BB buccaneer if this overshines a new attack that does 500% damage, is spammable, has decent range, and stuns for stun mastery. I guess I'll just go for transform for the weapon attack, then stun mastery, then dice roll, then finally energy charge.

EDIT: Just got dice roll, got the critical buff, and oh my god it's so good. Totally maxing that before stun mastery, but getting transform first.

Do you have a mount? Consider getting one and delay maxing transform since the speed won't really be used well since you use BSB. I think dice is the best of the three. dice 4,5, and 6 are all amazing when training.

No I don't have a mount, I'm an immigrant to Khaini so I don't have access to any funds(and I'm not paying an outrageous amount to transfer).

I already got my transform to level 7 in the time of making this thread, the speed boost is actually pretty decent with it, what's more important is the jump it gives. It really helps me jump behind a mob if I need to turn around(lol I sound like I'm driving a car but that's what it feels like).

Although, yeah, dice roll is showing to be MUCH better. 14k turns into like 20k with the damage buff, crit rate buff is just better damage alltogether. The exp buff would be better if it lasted more than just 60 seconds. I also like the 24k I just hit with CSB.

I already contributed into transform, and I hate incomplete skills, so sadly I'm going to max that first, then I'll get dice after. It'll pay off either way since I'll have all my stat buffing skills and when I get energy charge it'll be at it's best potential, so I can really appreciate it more.

why'd you get charge without Blast? o_O

I got charge because of the massive amount of buffs it gives. A 20+ weapon attack for the short compromise of certain windows without the buff. Stance, which usually saves me from getting KB'ed if I manage to get hit spamming BSB, usually I will touch a mob with BSB before it gets pushed back, thus, my power guard effect of it does damage to them which can sometimes do 13k damage(honestly).

I don't know if this is a smart ideal, but it's seeming that all these buffs > The critical chance of stun mastery.

I also wanted transform for the +20 weapon attack it gives, as it stacks with energy charge(tested) so that's a total of a frame with +40 weapon attack. The speed and jump bonus's are nifty, and I find Transformation to be a brawlers most entertaining skill, I just LOVE transformation and cannot awit to get Super transformation.

I didn't know the potential of dice roll before I invested into Transformation, and I already started halfway through. Unfortunately I have no confidence in my luck, but I've only gotten 4 bad rolls in the 10 times that I've used it, the rest have been damage/crit/exp buffs, so I'm going to get this next, it's amazing!

Energy blast is a formiddable skill, and all those bonus's will apply to it as well. But I am not in constant movement throughout the map with energy blast, while I can use BSB to collect a mob it won't be as strong this way, and the stunning effect of it would be a lot more useful if I have stun mastery.I usually end up killing mobs before I even finish collecting them into a massive heap where I can energy blast them to death, so I figured the 20 SP for it would be better spent strengthening BSB rather than investing in something I'll probably only use as a mob finisher, which CSB works perfectly fine for.

But I didn't want to just rush into this conclusion without some debate over my logic for this, I'm open to better strategies. But it seems at the point I'm at it doesn't matter which one I do, it's more of a matter of choice and both builds seem to be just as effective.

I think that by the time monsters will have enough HP to survive long enough against the BSB spam you'll have points for blast anyway. It really depends on the map though.
