Is there anyway to know if someone is torrenting in my network?
#1
I live in a dorm. In a past few days, everything is fine until 7PM when I'm suddenly lag. And this lag goes on until around midnight. I'm suspicious that someone is pulling all internet signal, probably by torrenting.

So is there anyway I can find out who's torrenting from my computer? Or at least, anyway to confirm that I'm lag because someone else is torrenting?

Packet sniff in promiscuous mode.

Not really a subject for here though due to the abuses.

Just block all ports on the router except for http and maple port (dunno what is is though), and wait for someone to start complaining! Tongue

The entire building shares the same connection more than likely. His personal router is irrelevant to what everyone else is doing, since the implication here isn't his own room as the culprit.
Having access to the building's, or even the floor's is unlikely.
