tl;dr:

New project with Aoki Ume (Hidamari Sketch), Urobuchi Gen (Saya no Uta writer), and SHAFT. The project is being directed by Akiyuki Shinbo, who directed other SHAFT series such as Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, Hidamari Sketch, Bakemonogatari, Arakawa Under The Bridge, etc.

It's supposed to be a unique take on the Magical Girl genre. Considering how Urobuchi likes to do pretty dark and gritty stories, I wonder what the hell he has planned for a Magical Girl series.
