White screen of anger
#1
So i recently updated my AVG on my computer and it started doing updates by itself. So I've restarted the computer three times for updates and no recently maple has been giving me a white screen, which I used to get on my old computer. Now I'm wondering if there is anyway to fix this problem with white screen or how you can un-update my computer. Can anyone help Frown

Thank you in advance.

AVG is crap, and I take it upon myself to let people know this. I have had countless clients with terrible viruses that AVG doesn't pick up regardless of how many scans it does. Given this, AVG is like a virus itself: it uses resources and messes up your computer's functionality to a point.

Uninstall. Try Kaspersky for a month and uninstall that when the trial's over. Rinse and repeat.

And no it doesn't get in the way of your productivity/entertainment.

Thanks ill try it =). Only not sure if its AVG that is causing the white screen my friend said it could be the graphics card, and that its out of date. Could that be it?

You could always disable automatic updates and just manually update it yourself.

Meh, I use AVG.I find full scans with Kaspersky take wayyyyyy too long.

At least nearly everything is better than Norton.

Idk about AVG but my old desktop was so slow that it lagged at Zakum and even training with Mage Ultimates and got a white screen for lagging.

Hm I see, ours happens even when my sister uses chain lighting. Only thing that confuses me is that it worked perfectly fine before i got the new AVG trial

I need to know the graphics card. And I suppose you don't have too many processes occurring that would also cause a resource freeze? And that your power supply can handle the game at load?

On low end computers, antivirus/security software + games = massive lag.

Also, Kaspersky's algorithms are a bit more complex, so yeah it does take longer. It does its job though. The trade-off is doable.
You can try nod32 but it isn't as proactive.
