Internet Connection abnormalities
#1
In the past, this happened once, and it's come back for the past week.

Symptoms:
- Can't load 2 sites: imgur and xkcd (probably more, I just have come to notice these 2)
- Youtube is UNUSABLE. Other video streaming hosts (pron) work fine, just not Youtube.
Additionals:
- Bandwidth tests:
 local host
 LA host
- Proxies work, leading me to believe that my ISP switched to providing a different IP address, or group of similar ones, I'm not sure.
- I'm using a combination of dynamic IP and Google's DNS.
- I have access to the router's setting (192.168.1.1) to provide extra information if required.

 Spoiler

Thanks ahead for any tips to resolve, or bypass this problem.

Quick question. Err, or more of a request.

Try going to these websites:

http://173.231.140.219 (imgur, should bring up a 404)
http://72.26.203.99 (xkcd)

When you say YouTube is unusable, does that mean it loads but video streaming is piss-poor? Or it can't load at all?

The reason I'm asking is because I suspect something may be off with your DNS server.

Both do not work. And Youtube just loads very slowly, to the point of "pineapple this pomegranate".

I guess I can try using a different DNS, brb.

EDIT: Nope, both accessing the IPs directly and using dynamic DNS server do not help.

Oh and, the time it happened before, this problem prolonged for 2 days then went away without a trace before I decided to do anything about it.

Hmm, I don't think I can help then. It's probably something to do with your ISP? If you do a tracert on the command line to imgur.com you'll probably see your connection drop somewhere along the way.
