Finally beat it today. Kinda stopped playing after I couldn't kill the final boss.
Anyways, the point of this thread is the best part of that battle: One of the minions it summons every so often ended up landing the killing blow.

Oh man, I played that game a ton a while ago. Played it once on normal and once on epic to get all the medals. You're probably talking about that dark stone monolith, right? It shot it's super laser and killed everyone like it does. But that game was great, you could strategize so much and it really pays off.
Anyway, hang in there. Make sure to wear gear that protects from death for that fight or you'll get pineappleed up. Always dispel enemies if they buff their attack power, and keep 40 to 70% defense and magic defense up on all characters at all times. You're level 30 right?

Cosmic Monoliths are overpowered imo. I've noticed that monsters that heal themselves by attacking everything actually have to roll to hit themselves (Flare them if you don't get what I'm talking about). Cosmic Monoliths missing themselves with Doomsday is funny. And yes, it also means their accuracy is jacked up extremely high.
Played it once on normal, found it fairly challenging. Then I played it on Epic, and breezed through it (yes really) until the final boss.
I'm still trying to kill all the guys in the final secret area. This includes level 50 bushes that hit you for 250k (rofl) and tons of level 38 Akron worm minions. And it gets worse...

I beat it on epic when it first came out, t'was funny and better than the first two. Haven't bothered getting all the medals and going to the secret level yet however.

All you need is the appropriate elemental resistances. I did my first playthrough on Epic and it wasn't difficult at all.

This game is fantastic. Beat it on normal, went and restarted with all skills/gear and lol'd at everything (except Akron and Pyrohydra). Cosmic monoliths are easy, just stack dark resist (Nat uses pope gear, and officer gear (split the hat/coat) + dark resist weapon for the other 2).

You won't say that when you find three of them at once. Plus, I think they have non-element damage mixed in there, so there's not much you can do about that. Except grind forever... there's not a whole lot to go off of past lvl 30. (again, secret area)
Also, the Cosmic Monolith was enough to lock down my entire party halfway through my first attempt at Akron in epic mode. Granted, that was unlucky when he summoned ghosts to murder me almost immediately afterwards D=
My favorite moment was when Akron and the Evil Tail managed to insta-kill all my guys, but Natalie came back cause I casted Revive a turn before.

I was ridiculously close to dead, Matt had the Viking Helmet so he was berserked most of the battle, but I had just revived him so i had a free turn to do whatever I wanted - so I used Cleaver, hoping it would kill the guy because I would have probably died next turn. Left him with a sliver of HP. "FFUUUUUUUUU-"
*Cosmic Monolith fires laser"

I agree and also think those things. Epic wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it would be just because I was so familiar with how things work by then.
As for the all medals area, I walked through it (just run from the enemies and you can move past 'em) just to see what was in the chests, and it was fairly disappointing. I attempted to fight the first group of monsters with my level 30 group (no extended level cap). I believe I beat the first set (can't remember what they were), and I even killed the level 50 bushes with poison, flare, and a lot of coffee. I can't remember at what point the monsters got too much for me to handle, but I know there was a set of monsters in the second battle that wrecked my pomegranate. I'll prolly beat 'em all later. Not sure where you level past 30 though.

Maybe it's just me, but I found EBF3 way easier on Epic than the previous two. EBF2 destroyed me a dozen+ times, but EBF3 barely gave me trouble.

First fight was something like...
Code: Level 36 Light Golem
Level 36 Dark Golem
------------------
Level 50 Fall Bush
Level 50 Dark Bush
-----------------
Level 36 Ice Elemental
Level 36 Fire Elemental (rofl kills teammates off)
Level 36 Earth Elemental
Second fight:
Code: Level 38 Evil Worm
Level 38 Evil Worm Tail
-----------------
Level 38 Evil Worm Tail
Level 38 Evil Worm
Level 38 Evil Worm
Level 38 Evil Worm Tail
Poison immunity works wonders against the heads, but otherwise, have fun.
Third fight starts off with a level 30 bush, which just basically means "good fking luck" with the next set of monsters =P (I got further than that though)

I beat the first group with quite a few deaths, but I still got through it. It took me forever to beat the worm and worm tail in the second group, and then I see double as many in the second group, and they killed me. I was unhappy (especially since I couldn't go past 30), so I started working on my NG+ Epic file. Haven't gotten it up to 30 yet though.
