Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded(DS)
#1
I haven't seen a lot of people talking about this game, but I just checked Youtube and it seems that it's been released in Japan.

Part 1 of the walktrough.

I'd love to play the game, but it seems that you need the L button a lot, and mine sort of stopped working some time ago. I got it back to work before so I'm going to keep trying to fix it, but I might be out of luck. Which would be bad, because the game seems awesome.

Owut. I didn't even know there was another KH game for the DS.
This looks better than 358/2 Days. That fucking tutorial went on forever and the gameplay seemed to be a huge drag.

This is a remake (albeit total re-work) of a mobilephone game, for anyone who doesn't know.

Just got announced for a January 11th release in the US.

Sooner than expected, but there were some signs pointing towards that, so it's not totally out of the blue.

Looks ugly and worse graphically than 358/2

The resolution just sucks. It looks a lot better on the DS. Sadly I don't have the .dat files(flashcard) to support both Pokémon B/W and KHRC, so I'll have to wait until I'm really going to play it.

Massive edit(WARNING, WALL OF TEXT!):

Completed the game today. IT. WAS. AWESOME. Gameplay wise that is, I hardly got anything of the story(it's in Japanese, which I do not speak). There's more platforming in this game than any other KH game, the way you upgrade your stats is great (it's like Days, and I heard it's also like FFX), and since I don't own a PSP this was my first time with the Command system. Amazing is all I can say. At first I thought there wouldn't be as much Commands as BBS, but there's quite a lot(still not as much, but still a lot). General gameplay is awesome, and theres 2 sidescrolling levels and 2 "shooting" levels(both of which are great), and most of the Olympus Colliseum is turn based with reaction commands(you can do combos by pressing A at the right time and block/dodge with Y)(it also holds the best grinding spot in the game).

There's also dungeons called "System Areas" where you collect "SP"(system points?) to buy prices. After a certain point these places start having challenges(some of which are really hard). Anyways, the main objective here is to kill all the Bug Heartless on a floor while collecting SP. Some prices are Rings, Panels, Commands, quest items(yet to do quests though), and there's also Keyblades(for insane prices). The Bonus boss is at the end of one of these(challenge: Use a finisher within 60 seconds, which isn't too hard compared to things like "Don't use heal").

The graphics are also really good. General gameplay has graphics better than Days: All special effects look much, much better. Areas also look slightly better(they're also quite a bit bigger), but character models are still the same. The voiced cutscenes are great, though not a lot changed here. Using sprites instead of overworld models for most conversations and such was a wise decision. The music is of the same quality, but there are some very nice pieces.

I thought Days was awesome. This game is so much better gameplay wise, and I'm sure there are some nice story elements too. 9/10 (might become a 10/10 once I play it in English).
