Unable to chat in Maplestory
#1
Sometimes after about an hour of playing Maplestory, key strokes into the chat window turns into empty spaces and sometimes the number "1" (so a typical message turns into "1 1 111 11"). This problem plagued me ever since I began playing late 2006 and resolved itself late 2008 to early 2009. The problem came back up again yesterday w/ the number "1" and today w/ the number "0" (so bunch of 0s and empty spaces). The game itself functions fine except the Esc key no longer work. The problem doesn't get resolved until the system is restarted and non-QWERTY keys like Ctrl, Alt and Esc is disabled even after the Maple client is closed. Any help on how to fix this issue?

[update] I have isolated the problem to "The ALT key is pressed down for some reason." It is not a classic "sticky key" issue as the surrounding keys never gets "stuck" and the key isn't sticky at all. The Windows accessibility feature has been turned off. The problem did not occur before using the same PC, OS and keyboard. The only variable is Maplestory client version and all OS add-ons/programs installed/program settings were reset (like Microsoft Plus! which got discontinued). Is there a program that prevents this glitch that I unknowingly installed on my previous computer? :f6:

There could had been a program, but I don't even know what the program it.

I also had this problem when I played JMS in XP, and I never found a solution to it other than tapping both alt keys at once.. It seems this problem appeared during one of the older JMS patches before Oct 2009

I have heard of some keyboards failing to register as well as Mice when MapleStory loads prompting either a reboot or a reload of MS.
