There is another advantage for using Professional that I forgot to mention

Home Premium does not have the host application for the Remote Desktop Connection so you cannot connect another computer remotely into it.
Also, Home Premium has a limit of 16GB, while Pro/Ultimate have a 192GB limit.

Only the HDD special works for the build that I'm suggesting

Man, if I could price match, I could easily bring down the cost of the parts to about $600 with the OS.

Promos are good but sadly most of Neweggs are limited to certain items on a short term. Still it's always good to see what deals they have going on.

Oh, I guess NCIX has a US site too, but they do not offer Price Matching.

Dell computers are typically... Heinz 57 models. (At least in the models that I have seen)

Heinz 57 meaning that they typically put in the "cheapest of the cheap". If Samsung will give them a deal on 5000 HDDs, and PNY (though ive never seen a Dell with PNY) will give them a deal on RAM, etc etc....

Tiger Direct is a good site for parts. I'd explain what you'd need but that would take a bit of time.

This should help you. Personally I LOVE Asus. I have a G71GX, with W7 Ultimate 64 bit and XP Pro x86 And most current gen PC games rarely stutter and I get 50+ FPS. MS rarely lags unless it's a server sided issue.

Tigerdirect and Newegg are 2 very large websites that offer different prices for parts. I said in the other thread that it is ALWAYS better to shop around. But yes, Tigerdirect is a good website.

Cooler Master recently introduced the 912 to the HAF series. At $59.99 it is $30 less than the HAF 922 on Newegg. You should definitely consider it.

Okay, so I got an e-mail from TK and it compiled a list of what I needed for my computer. The total was about $790.87 from the NewEgg site. No idea if this includes tax or not but it's DEFINITELY a steep price even with tax @.@

Unless there's a good reason to get it, there's little hope of me building a comp with this pricing. Reason why I said ~$700 was because I won a $850 scholarship and I want to save as much of it as possible for other purposes. Seeing as I have a full ride through college as of right now, I figured I'd spend it on something I want.

The last thing I need is another laptop. That's sort of the reason why I got my 1st laptop (currently on it). It was going to be for gaming AND college work. It's great for college work and it's decent for gaming but it's not good enough to run Combat Arms and Vindictus the way I want it to. I can run it, sure, but it lags whenever it heats up. The lag is TERRIBLE. So, I would prefer a desktop =3

The only thing I would add would be the option for the Radeon HD 5570 graphics card and maybe Windows 7 Pro. It'll round off to about $800-950 bucks even with the 2 year warranty.

and in my opinion, the warranty doesnt exactly help me whatsoever. All my computers start having problems AFTER the 2years @.@
But better safe that sorry (in case I drop it and I'm a klutz on my off-days).

And I'm going to decide what I will do tonight or by at least 8am Monday morning. Either build one or buy one.

Gaming PCs are powerhouses with a lot of high end equipment. A lot of hardcore tech heads will say only recently hardware is worth getting too and that only makes it worse.

Look at my other suggestion of a PC build Skylit kept throwing punches at. I was under 750 dollars and it had good decent equipment in it, even if some were 3 years old. The system I designed was a gaming computer. It does get expensive if you go new stuff. Sometimes you can save a buck and get a system thats slightly older and get good performance. Sometimes, you can't.

There are 3 things in a gaming computer

A gpu replaced every 1 or 2
A proccesor that won't bottleneck the GPU
A fast speed ram and a decent amount

Ati 5770= ati 4870 but not as reliable
ati 4870 = performs better or equal to 5770

NEW GPU's coming into the market work = First year new line of GPU's
Second Year Improved versions of the first year GPU's
Third Year new GPU's etc.....

Basically Ati 5xxx series came out last november and Nvidia GTX 4xx Series came out last March.. Ati will release better models of their high end chips like 5870 and 5790
Nvidia on the other hand has terrible first year GPU's because they suck tons of power and the second year are much better..
People perfer Ati because if they had a 4870 and 5xxx series came out they can just get another 4870 and they beat 5870.
Others prefer Nvidia because they offer better drivers but their GPU's cost much more then Ati

Most likely this will come down to me buying one since it's due to costs. Not like it isn't more profitable from building one, but I just don't have the funds for now (with a comfortable price remainder). My brother has eMachines so if it ends up breaking down, I may build him one for his b-day
