Question/Request about email changes
#1
About 2 months ago I requested an email change from Nexon because I lost connected account. Just now I got a response; it appeared in my junk mail and the address was @nexon-mail.com which doesn't seem right to me. I can't send tickets because their system gives me an invalid querystring and I can't post on their forums because I made them look bad and in turn they globally blocked my IP.

So for the questions:

1. Can someone take a moment to ask on their forums if @nexon-mail.com is trusted and
2. Can someone who has been through this process, like GeminiDawn, verify that this is the response address that they received?

I would be most comfortable with both questions answered, since if it's a phishing site no one is really trustworthy. But yeah... help is appreciated.

Also I refuse to FAX (WHO USES FAX MACHINES IN 2010!?) them my drivers license so hopefully I can get around that, should this turn out to be true.

Thanks in advance.

I'd be hesitant about nexon-mail.com...a whois on the domain seems fishy.

They used a service which hides the contact info, but they probably wouldn't need to if it was actually Nexon, and it's based in Portugal.

Yeah, I did a google search before posting this and the responses were mixed. Some people said that they have used and trusted this (primarily basilers which doesn't help my dilemma) and others stated exactly what you did.

Also, is anyone else getting the invalid querystring on the support page?

Did they ask for "fishy" information? When nexon replies to a request like the e-mail change they either say that you've been denied (info didn't match) or that your request was approved and your e-mail was changed. In the former you would have to complete the form all over again (not reply to their e-mail) and in the later you would complete your pw or pic reset (and not reply to their e-mail). So if this is an e-mail that requests a reply then I place bets that it's not from Nexon, they don't solicit replies (except from contest winners - and in those cases a list is posted so you have verification already).

when i type nexon-mail.com on google chrome, it bring this page:

http://www.nexon.com/gb/page/gnx.aspx?URL=home/index

that is the main nexon page, so i really don't know if its trustable or not ;x

what is write before the @nexon-mail.com?

and posting the e-mail content would help too... its so vague.

We look forward to receiving your fax soon.

I don't even know where to find a fax machine. I phoned my boss and he laughed for like 10 minutes and then said "wait, you're serious?"

btw, did they msg you on the new e-mail?

btw, you don't need fax machine, some printer can send fax, and i think you can scan it, and use a program to send it via fax.

You can go to fedex or kinkos to fax something.

You can sign up for free trial fax services online that work with office.

Direct quote from -Hime-, so take it with a grain of salt:

DustBunny is who I was referring to in "2. ...GeminiDawn..."

And yes, they messaged me via my new email. The only connection it has to anything maple related is being on their email change form. Unfortunately that doesn't help my confidence because Nexon's security is not something I trust.

@street: hmm thanks.

@Stereo: Yes that's what made me bring this up in the first place, which is why I'd be greeeeatly appreciative if someone would take a minute to ask on their forums if the address I provided in my previous post is legitimate.

Sarah that was also the fax number/document I used. I faxed it twice, I have the exact date at home, but that could have been what excellerated my process.

But yes the document is in fact legit, and if you trust me I can send the document through my fax machine if necessary.

Also make sure to submit the ID to the account, I refaxed it even though it didn't ask for that information as a reference. It was probably around a month difference.

I sent documents July 25th and received an answer, the change was August 17th.

Haha, thanks for the offer but I'll figure out a way to fax it on my own. Street has provided me with a working alternative, anyway.

Thanks for the other information.

Yes obe, the form you and sarah have both posted is legit. I used the form and faxed it twice. It got answered in 2-3 weeks. You should receive an email from einquiry@nexon.net on the new changed email.

Some printer might receive fax but unless it has a scanner, you can't send out a fax.

Someone can easily copy and paste a legitimate Nexon e-mail and fudge the content. I wouldn't trust anything sent from Portugal unless Nexon mail servers are located there.

Was this from that poll online where people voted which company they hated the most?

I just got this email notice a couple days ago as well. Nice to see that they're finally going through with the change even if it's a little awkward with the way they need verification...
