Not communicating with passport.nexon.net

Any page that calls or depends on passport.nexon.net, never fully loads.

I can log in using one of the sidebar logins on certain pages, but if I try to go to a login field that is on its own page (hosted on passport.nexon.net), it won't load at all... The connection times out.

When I do manage to log in, my characters' pictures from the rankings don't display.

I can start the client, either from the website once I'm logged in (excruciatingly slowly), or from Gamelauncher.exe, but I get the same error every time I try to connect to a server by world select on the website client or logging in on Gamelauncher.exe: The client freezes for 30 seconds to 2 minutes, then I get the popup that says "Trouble logging in? Try using maplestory.nexon.net". (I used to get this problem, but only with Gamelauncher; the website login worked just fine as long as I hadn't disconnected from the website.)

Oh, and once I log on to the website, I can't log off. Any "logout" buttons give me a time out error. I can only log off by clearing my browser cache.

I tried:

• Restarting
  
• Using IE instead of Firefox
  
• Another account of mine
  
• Turning off NoScript
  
• Logging in from the main Nexon page instead of the Maplestory one
  
• Using a different user account on my computer
  
• Giving the client server permissions on my firewall
  

But none of these worked.

Help? I'm running out of things to try. I logged a ticket, but I trust you guys more to know what you're talking about.

EDIT: Just reset my router. That didn't help either.

Run a tracert to the server to diagnose if the problem is from you to the router or if it's from somewhere external to your IP.

Ping the server. If the ping fails, it's likely a misconfigured setting on your machine.

Contact your ISP and ask about any problems in your connection.

IIRC, passport.nexon.net uses SSL exclusively - do you have that enabled? Does your firewall/router have SSL blocked?

Try this:

Start (Button) > Run > cmd [Press Enter] > type: ping -l 1024 -n 20 http://www.apple.com [Press Enter]

See if there is anything that says "connection timed out"

If that's the case, you have packet-loss on your internet connection, if not, then it's your PC (read: Windows) that's malfunctioning in another way.

I should mention my speedtest.net results are normal and I've had no problems logging in and out of other websites today.

I don't understand why this just started today, since I could log in perfectly fine yesterday, and I changed no settings.

Please excuse my DOS ignorance, but the command you gave me doesn't work, Devil, and I don't know how to fix it. It says 1024 is not a command.

Sorry, the -L looked like a -| to my eyes. x_x But they all worked.

So here's what happened: It suddenly started working. The only thing I can think of is that I tried shutting down my firewall and restarting it, but it didn't work while the firewall was shut down. At any rate, I got in-game, but now I'm pretty much scared to log off.

EDIT: Problem is back 4 hours later. =.= It did that thing where you've already d/ced, but the client won't close. Then it told me my account was unverified (it's been verified for 3 years) and was going to get deleted in 30 days. I clicked "ok" to verify it and it hung on the "Connecting to server" window.

EDIT2: More information. Billing.nexon.net has the same problem, as I found out when I decided to do surveys out of boredom. If I leave a Maplestory website tab open, eventually it will consume all of my system resources (like 98-99% in Task Manager for Firefox) until I close that tab. I have SSL enabled in Firefox, I don't think my software firewall has an option to disallow SSL, and my router doesn't appear to either.

EDIT3: New update. I am out of town with relatives for the weekend. I've had no problems at all, which means it's probably either my router/modem or my ISP. (They use a different ISP.)
