What do you guys think of remakes? We're talking about movies, btw.

I can't seem to recall a decent remake that I enjoyed, at all. I'm not stubborn at all, but it's just that the remakes tends to lean or stray from a different path than the original. Here's an example. I love watching the "Halloween" series because I just happen to find it more appealing to watch than "Friday the 13th". To me, Halloween was less predictable and Michael didn't always kill everyone in his path. Of course, after H20, I thought it went downhill from there anyways.

Point being, I own the entire original series on DVD. One day, I was curious, so I stayed up late at night and watched the remake that was made by Rob Zombie. The 1st one wasn't that bad, the original Halloween theme usually played. What I didn't get was that Rob Zombie overdid it by trying to interpret it a different way, or to explain the reason for why Michael kills people. Which to me was like "???". Because the original Halloween, Michael was just noted as to be possessed by the devil. Hell, everyone knew that.

In the remake, after watching the 1st film, I thought of him more as a psychologically troubled boy growing up into a man. Hold on.

>Possessed guy = psychologically troubled man
>???
>Possessed guy =/= psychologically troubled man
>YASZ

So anyways, after seeing the shit that is called a remake of Halloween. I thought "Well, let's finish up this crap. 2nd one can't be as bad, right?". DEAR. GOD.

White horse? Visions of his mother? WHAT IS THIS CRAP? Never was this mentioned in the original. Goddamnit. The entire thing strayed far off from the original, I cringed at every scene involving his mother, I always questioned "Why is she there?". Point being, the remake strayed really far off from the original. Especially when Michael took off his mask. Then I was like "??? WHAT!", and just had to stop watching it. Just no. Never. Ever. Just no.

I can't enjoy remakes because they stray from the originals, and when I watch remakes, I try to look more into visual effects and characters. The original one was more horrifying, even without the excess gore. I can never enjoy remakes. I don't think a lot of people do either, but I'm not sure. Do you guys enjoy remakes? Because remakes makes me cringe.

Uh, the new Hulk is WAY better than the previous one. I don't remember which ones, but I recall watching a couple remakes that were more than okay.

theres remakes, then there are revisionings.
remakes can be anywhere from decent to okay.
revisionings are pieces of sh'it that need to be erased from the world; bar very very few.
