Royal Guard S and Puppet
#1
So I'm attempting to solo Royal Guard S (in the middle of it, in fact, got about 1/12th HP down lololol), but I have a question about Puppet.

I use Puppet, then have the clock widget next to my Maple window to keep track of the time, so I have no problem there. However, do I have to re-aggro the Guard every time before I re-Puppet or not? Because the Guard is a bit weird with aggroing, I noticed it's either already aggroed or it's not.

In short, is the guard already locked on to me, to the point where I don't need to re-aggro before Puppeting? I'm too afraid to make sure 100% because... well, I don't wanna die, finding watches is annoying. ):

I can take you back in if you die. I have no idea whatsoever about Puppet, but from what I've seen, Cyanne does:
- Puppet
- Climb on rope and wait for a projectile attack
- Jump down immediately and re-puppet
- Resume attacking

Ah ha, I just did the same thing and that works perfectly. It's apparently auto-aggro and I had no idea. Rolleyes

Thanks! Also, that'd be great, I expect to make a stupid mistake sometime. D:

Watched my Marksman guildie kill it a few times, he used Frostprey to aggro it each time he puppetted. From what I saw, he had to do it, cause it'd always follow him when he went back to the ladder to get back up until he re-aggro'd before puppetting; almost killed him a few times. But yeah, basically what Kalovale said.

Good luck, Karen!<3

Hm, should've seen that coming, lost track of the timer and died. :< Now hunting for another watch to go inside, it's got like 1/3rd HP down. >_>

That tip is extremely helpful, though, makes things MUCH easier.

Yeah, this is the safer way to go about things. Relying on your reflexes every 60 seconds is a tiny bit faster, but things get really dull when you're killing 9-10 of these things in a single sitting. When puppet's like 5 seconds away from running out, jump down and cast another puppet anywhere to de-aggravate it, go up the rope and jump off when your head is in the gray part of the platform to aggravate it to you, puppet again on the left to draw it to the puppet, go up and attack, and repeat the whole process every minute until it dies.

I just puppetted on the platform then jumped down ASAP. His attacks are pretty slow so you should be fine. (I died 3 times while killing it though so it's not THAT safe... xD)

But yea the answer to your question is: No.
