IP Block Definitions Updated

Nexon Wrote:Greetings players,

Following the recent update of our IP blocking rules, we know that a few legitimate players were inadvertently affected by this security measure. The definitions we established targeted behavior utilized by gold farmers/spammers and botters, but some players were also caught in the filtering. Based on the reports we’ve received, and following the information we’ve gained since its launch, we’ve updated the IP blocking rules to improve access for legitimate players. This was only possible due to the information we gained through the initial phase of the program, which gave us valuable insight on how we can better target gold farmers, while not impacting the average player. This measure was already released, so if you have been incorrectly affected by the IP block in the past, please try connecting to our website again. As always, if you are unable to access our websites, we encourage you to utilize the reporting form to regain access.

Thank you, and we hope to see you online!

Nope. They're going to forget some other legitmate players. Either that, or they're going to allow them, but then accidentally trigger another IP block to block even more legitimate players.

Really though, they should have known the general areas that the gold farmers are in, along with the spammer bots (used by gold farming sites to sell gold usually) and focused these definitions in those areas, and unblock people who might possibly get entangled in it still.

I'm thinking it might have been for logging into several accounts. At least, at this point, that's what I'm HOPING for it to be. Sad

So if we are blocked from accessing the website, we should go to the website and use the ticket system?

Does not compute.

No. When one is IP-banned, if s/he tries to log in, a notice comes up saying

"Hey you're ip banned lol. Use this form to maybe regain access. idk."

or... something along those lines.

Ah, that makes more sense then.

Glad they did something helpful to the community, maybe we'll see more of that in the future. Like taking out the NX mastery books for Evan.

So what this is saying is that they made no changes to their system and if you are lucky maybe you got un-ip-banned?

Currently (at least before the sc) they allow 9 logins per day per ip (reset 12:00am PST) game or web-site logins count.

If anyone has any change to report to the current practice please say so.
