Americans!

Swerve Wrote:I'm sorry. I'm American. I can't help myself.

If someone really wanted to know about the United States there are wonderful sites like Wikipedia and CIA Factbook. Take the following information for example that files under #3.

Maybe I'm just skeptic because someone named uncouth who claims to be a college student is insinuating that a a given country is mostly fat, rude, and belligerent. High school kids are pretty stupid so it makes sense that they might treat comments in a Maple Story forum community as legitimate responses in a written report. But a college student? Come on man. Don't bullshit yourself. You were trolled way before you decided to read my comments.

The thread was created in Speakeasy, so I gave a serious response, regardless of why the question was asked. Even if his story doesn't check out, someone else might get some benefit from a thoughtful answer.

This thread is for answering the OP's questions, no matter how stupid you perceive them to be. If you have a problem with it, discuss it outside the thread.

1. You'd probably be right. We do have a high rate of obesity which has only increased much more so as our unemployment rates skyrocketed; there's an obvious correlation there.
2. There are pompous people everywhere in the world. We just happen to be stereotyped are particularly proud.
3. It varies from place to place. I can walk through a neighborhood run by the Latin Kings with no trouble.

Lol...

Thanks to the above people who responded to this thread. Its wonderfully enough for my mini project.

Note Education systems in US and singapore is different. I'm 17 and in a junior college of singapore.
Also I know that facts can be gotton from CIA fact books wikipedia etc....

but what im studying now is First hand knowledge from people.
Some precious comments here can never be found in CIA factbook, which is what I need.
I chose America(USA) as my subject because I went on a holiday there last year, and i'm writing an arguementative essay to rebutt all of the assumptions above, with the only counter arguement on Assump1.
So yeah, you can say I do not exactly agree with that too. However, it's a fact that such assumptions though hurting, are commonly heard, so i just thought of posting these to see some opinions on that matter.

To all haters: sorry but such comments are un-needed here. Your comments are not in my essay. Work is over, thread can be closed now.

THANKS to those who helped me today. Have a nice day.

Good luck with your essay. Putting in first-person opinions from the people being criticized is the best way to make a point in an argumentative essay.
