What is the breakdown on horntail's attacks?
#1
By which, I mean, how much weapon or magic attack does leg, tail constitute? I know the numbers for touch and basic magic damage, but I'm interested in actual value of leg stomp and tail slap. I would guess they count as physical but I need the numbers associated to them. (ex. pink bean big bang is 1500 MDD or whatever unit it's in) Also does anyone know how attack up changes damage? I know guard up knocks off your final damage by 20%, attack up seems to increase monster damage by like 40%, would be nice to know the exact mechanics behind it if anyone knows. Thanks in advance.

P.S. I'm not asking for damage range, I'm just looking for the PDD and MDD values if they're known.

Monster buffs are actually specific to the skill and add a certain value to attack/defense (which is then quadratic-ized if it's attack) and not just a percentage of damage. Defense up seems like it works this way where it actually matters because most of the time the defense values get so high that they reach the 2000 limit. Wings add 130 magic and 130 attack, legs stomp for 950 PA, and tail slams for 850 PA. Max damage ignoring defense is estimated by 0.0085*PA^2, but most people with zakum hats and kind of regular equipment usually tack off like 400 damage or so.

Thanks Cyanne. I notice that defense up seems to dock off a consistent 20% damage or so, I don't think it modifies the monster's defense and cap at 1999, because theoretically that will reduce base range by 1k or so before skill modifiers but I've seen 50k hurricane crit going down to 40k everytime it buffs up. 75k stars also go down to like 61k or so. That thief boss in cwkpq I seem to be able to do 50k crit as well and he has 1999 defense.

Yeah I dunno how it works either, horntail's left (our left) arm's defense up skill has an x value of 85. I don't know if this is +85% to its defense, 85% of our damage, 85% of our damage range, or something different.
