Remember That Trip To Japan?
#1

Well, I registered for it, but I didn't win. However, I did get something interesting in the mail. lol

Today, I recieved a package and I was surprised what I found inside. As a runner-up, I received a Youkoso Japan! T-shirt that has some images from Japan on it (too bad it's medium-size and I wear XL, since I'm tall as f'uck), a guide on how to survive in Japan, a tourist's guide to the Japanese language, including all bus fairs, all survival Japanese, and a brochure so you know what cool thing is where with a huge map of Japan that'll help you get just about anywhere you want to go. lol They also included some interesting smaller things that pretty much just told me to reapply for the free trip again next year. Of course, I'm going to have enough money for a trip myself by then. lol

Did anyone else apply and get anything? :f6:

well, that's pretty cool nonetheless. I wonder if they did it because your entry was good or because of that japanese tradition of gifting things for everything.

They said it was a select few, but who knows? lol

You are now obligated to reapply next year as per japanese traditions or great shame will befall you.

Congrats though.

Oh! I see. The package I got was a "Bronze Prize." It was awarded to 10 people. It kind of sucks to realize that I was in the top 17 winners, but wasn't good enough to actually win a trip (which is what the top two people got). :S

Oh, then congrats to you mang. Really. I would've really liked if they done something like this in South America and I could submit an essay in spanish Sad [/color]

You'd think the winning essay would be written in japanese.

Then again, if you re-read the old thread, the essays were to be written only in english. lol

I wouldn't think so. The submission entry was in English and they didn't say anything about writing it in Japanese. It's possible, though... I just know that the winner won because they wrote some sob story about their pen-pal. lol

I don't think he knows for sure, he was just cracking a guess. That may or may not have been the case.

He said that the only thing he's certain about is that the guy who won, did it with that bawwing story.
