Personally I think they will get left handed and right handed skills. Think of it as if you had a average skill but now you have to choose if you want that skill to be developed on your left or right hand. And wich ever one you upgrade you can only use on that hand. If this was the case would hands become a major stat for them?
post your ideas. GO! GO!

Hope not, we already have brawlers and thats as close to a physical attack class as we need to get.

Probably similar to Lloyd Irving, mostly thrusting and some vertical slashing skills.

I lol'ed, but you have a point. They switch hands automatically when turning, which makes no sense.

I think the Blades will face the opposite directions of eachother. But, when the player attacks, it attacks with both of the Blades, acting like a one-handed Blade/Dagger or so.

But I originally imagine them being like buccs (who already have equip 2 weapons at a time with just 1 equip).
I thought they'd have skills for right and left hands as well, meaning they'd have to chain their skills together to train efficiently, because there would be a slight delay between using 2 right hand skills or whatever.
But the new skill animations seem to say otherwise.

I expected them to wield two daggers, attacking twice with each hit, thus ridiculously inflating dagger prices. Too bad they had to design a whole new weapon.

they got tired of thinking what something amazing and different to add (aran's combos and Evan's dragon) so they went and thought of new weapons instead so that they can play like a normal character with new weapons.

I actually predicted the thief Legend would dual wield some months before Evan even reached kMST. I also speculated the basis on which the Evan would be founded; Close Range. The Evan is basically a battle mage, my only hope was that it'd have used something other than wands/staves. But seeing as I wasn't completely right, and it uses a medium to fight, then it's appropriate.
As far as the new Legend goes I'm speculating there'll be an alternating attack system. You don't level up different skills for different hands. Each skill will be weak (on it's own) But for full affect you learn to alternate between each hand. Each skill could be cut in half, enssentially having to leave each skill for each hand. Instead of 20 SPs for 1 skill you'd use 10SPs for 2 skills. It'd basically be a chain bandit. Quick thinking and execution are key. This is different than a combo because a combo is reliant on hit and preservation.
This is just my idea though, I could be very wrong. So far I've only predicted rough unique qualities of these new classes. I have no good guess for either the archer or the pirate. I only have a crummy idea of a weakness-point based archer. They'd essentially be nerf'd and specialized like the Buccaneer (Weak in some situations, weak in others). But this is just fan speculation on my part and it could really go anywhere.

Evan is far from close range. They have just as much, if not more, range as every other Magician class.

It should be safe to assume you won't be equipping two separate daggers. It'd be just one, seen on both hands. Like in this.

I also think the reason why Blades are slow (Slow 7, which is as slow as polearms) is because each dagger is used separately. Like Shroum said, you may have skills for each hand / blade, so for your movements to be fast as a thief class is supposed to be, you have to chain them together by using different skills which go on each hand. Think about it this way, Imagine this legend can use savage blow, but because of the blade's speed you can only do one savage blow per second, so instead of repeating savage blow a second time you use assaulter with the other dagger, allowing you to perform a second attack in the same second and increasing your attacking speed / damage per minute. This would create a new combo system, different to the aran's one and similar to buccaners. It would make this class pretty hard but they could have insane damage to pay off for that difficulty.

I'm wondering if they're willing to put the Combo system here as well, and I've also thought about two-handed weapons as a matter of being able to chain and link right-handed and left-handed attacks together to train efficiently to create a nice gameplay style. In my opinion, I'm not buying the idea of having to buy two daggers to have to use. Why? Why should you be forced to buy two of the same attack dagger? If the two daggers don't have this same attack value, you're easily given the disadvantage of having one hand that does good, and the other one not exactly so much; causing a strong-weak-strong-weak sort of chain of attacks going on. Why not make it so that this class is given the graphic of having two of the same dagger on at once once you put just a single one on? This gives them stable damage and plus makes the matter of cost a lot easier.

If that's so, this is how buccaneers should have been =O I still like the way we have it now, but that woulda been fricken epic.

Knowing the style of maplestory this wont happen but if you compare this to real life, Every one has a dominate hand weather it's left or right. Now think about this being implemented into maple. It would be a whole new way to play. Hell for the Brawler legend they could use this A LOT. Think about being able to upgrade your legs or arms or different body parts instead or along with sp. so some players could be stronger with their arms and some could be stronger with their legs, some could be left handed some could be right and so on.

Personally, I see the split hand skills and attacking style to be too complicated for maple story, being that it is a 2d platforming game. If this was an 3d game, and could be played from a first person perspective, or close over the shoulder, I could see this happening. It may be possible in maple, sure, but theres too many factors that prevent it from being a viable play style.

Well, what about a second attack key? One for your left hand and another one for your right hand, so every time you wanted to perform a skill it would be like:
Att1 + Att2 + up arrow
Att2 + Att1 + att 2.
... and so on. Just a combo system like that of Arans, but a little more difficult. Like I said, they could have great damage to pay off for that.

I really wouldnt like them to use another combo system. That is one of the key features of Aran, having to use skills through key combos. Even with a second att key, it would really seem like a knock off of Arans system.
Id like to see them try something that required the normal attack key but skills were also mappable to keys. Only problem is, they would need to have faster weapons for this in order to make it balanced with normal attack speeds and skill speeds.
