My PS3 is Trying to Sabatoge the Wireless.

I just got a PS3 and hooked it up to the internet with Wireless. I've been trying to play MW2 online, which requires an update. Every time during this update, in the first 50%, the internet crashes for, not only the PS3, but every other computer around the house. At which point it takes 5-15 minutes before rebooting the wireless has any effect. Any idea what could be causing this?
