Bandit In The Making

[COLOR="Green"]I have created a new character, and decided to make a Thief for the first time. He's level 30 now, and these are his equips and stats.

Stats:
STR 6
DEX 25
INT 4
LUK All the rest of my points.

Equips:
12 Luk Thief Boss Hat
7 Dex Agent Earring
10 Dex Bathrobe
9 Dex 15 Acc Work Gloves
11 Speed Shoe
2 Luk 39 Attack Coconut Knife with 5 slots left
7 Att 4 Str Maple Shield with 7 slots left

My main focus s on figuring out how to distribute my stats. If it's cheap enough for me to get it, I'll get it, but I'm not going to try pulling something like a 20 DEX Bathrobe. I just spent 30m trying to land a 10% on a clean bathrobe, and all of them failed.

I already have a 7 attack wg I can give him later on, but for right now I would like to know what the basic amount of STR and DEX I need to weild my stuff. All I know is that the cap on STR is 75 and the cap on DEX is 160. I'm going to be making a bunch more witch brews, so I'm assuming he'll be near level 40 before I actually need to start training him, which is why I decided to leave Double Stab at 18 and max Dark Sight, since by the time I'm actually caring about damage, I'll have Savage Blow. Can I get any tips as to the stuff I would need to get this kid up to a high level by means of a STR build?[/COLOR]

Since STR dits aren't really worth it until level 80 and you aren't able to use a HTP, which makes a huge difference on your endgame base stats, until level 120, the easiest thing to do is just to go dexless and strless until level 90 or so. You should be able to keep your str/dex at 4/25 and just use Maple Wagner -> Diamond Dagger -> Fan, and still do some pretty good damage. All you need is a ZHelm, a Deputy Star, and a cape/top that adds a little STR for the Fan. At level 8x you can begin making an upgrade to your endgame stats by getting a good Pireta set and adding base STR and DEX until you can equip a Cursayer/Khanjar. After that it's a simple move up to HTP/DKhanjar/Pescas or Kanzir when you get there.

If you want some early game power to make use of how overpowered Bandits are in 2nd job, consider getting a 25~30 stat top/bottom set. It'll last you until it's time to convert. I used a Red Pao set, but it's probably better just to get common gear.

Double Stab was useful for me until 3rd job when I got Band of Thieves. I would've just dropped 2 points from Nimble Body and added them back in late 2nd job when you have like 10 extra points.

Dual my future Str Dit was basically:
1-70 Add Luk.
70- Whenever my total DEX is 120 (for maker level 2 equips) pump dex.
Then I am going to level a bit and mostly try to maker up some awesome endgame equips aiming for 75 str and 150 Luk.
Not sure if I am going to worry about MW with that (since I get it so late) or whether to wear a MoN or HT pend (pricing and how effective each is).

Also I am currently in my low 70s on him and pumping pure DEX atm isn't really killing my DPS since I wouldn't be one-hitting anyhow. Its a trade off of WHEN you want to be weakest.
If you are planning on doing any leeching I'd recommend being weakest then.

Yeah, I'm only going to be gaining exp from the brews until I manage to make 100 of them, and I have something like 35 now. Once I get 100 I'm off to train. I figured I'll be able to deal decent enough damage to kill things fast enough, and 2 points of Double Stab I doubt will be of that much importance to my damage. Thanks for the input guys. I guess I'll just leave my stuff the way it is for now, and upgrade my dagger every once and a while.

I actually created my first Bandit in Yellonde when it first opened, he was Dexless..

At Level 50, you might want to get a Diamond Dagger.. which requires 8 STR? Around that..

So if you're not very funded and wanna keep your STR at 4, try using a Blue Bamboo Hat and you'll be good
