What are your thoughts on the subject?
Do you think it's wrong to cheat on other people? Or do you believe that people should be allowed to have freedom to meet other people and experience?
I have a girlfriend, I love her, and I wouldn't cheat on her. But I did to another girl in the past. I don't really regret doing it, just because I think our relationship wasn't deep enough to think I'd hurt her feelings if I did.
Maybe I was wrong, maybe I wasn't.
What about you?

Of course there's something wrong with it. It's one of the most disrespectful things you can do to your boyfriend/girlfriend/partner, and shows that you don't have the balls to end what you know isn't working out. How on can it ever be right to cheat on another person?

I was more into the idea of ''cheating'' seen as freedom to experience with other people while being on a stable relationship.
It's like eating a little piece of chocolate with a different flavor to experience what it tastes like, and coming back to eating the regular one afterwards. I don't know if you get my point or if I'm being clear.

I've met bisexual people a couple times that had a boyfriend/girlfriend of the opposite sex, but somehow to them it wasn't cheating as long as it was with a person of the same sex.

I don't think it's alright. If you want the freedom to meet other people and have experiences, then you shouldn't be in a relationship or you should be in an open one where everyone is on the same page.

Wow, that's interesting. :f6:
And neither of their partners would know as long as they didn't know he/she was bi...

If the relationship is an open relationship where both partners are free to experience and each knows about the other's experiences, I see no fault.

Cheating is the single worst mistake I've ever made in my entire life.
That being said, in many ways, I'm glad I did it. I learned a lot about myself, decided to grow a spine, I'm still with "the other man," and I learned how not to end a relationship. Would I ever do it again? HELL NO.

My younger brother's ex-girlfriend actually managed to convince him that this was a good idea. The result? She bangs some other guy while on vacation with her family, and guilt trips him into thinking that he's the pimento for getting mad at her because they agreed to an "open relationship." Yeah. No. Thank God my little brother walked away from that bi tch STD-free.
I don't think it's a good idea if you're in a committed relationship. If you're just dating, then sure, date as many girls as you want, you're not attached to any of them. But if you say to someone, "I want to be with you, but I also want to meet other people to see if I want to be with them instead," well, who the hell would want to be your backup plan if things don't work out? It would seem that you're unsure of the relationship you're in currently, looking for an easy way out, or are in the relationship to have a sense of stability or security without actually dedicating yourself to someone.
If two people can agree on this arrangement and be okay with it, well, more power to them.

Depends on how a person defines cheating, or how serious you're interpreting that word. I've technically never cheated on my 'ex' when I was with her, sure, I looked at other women, I had very interesting conversations with members of the opposite sex, I hugged them. Did I kiss them, or sleep with them though? No.
I think it's okay to 'get to know' other people, but within a certain limit or boundaries. I wouldn't be upset if my future girlfriend were to talk with other guys. It's not like she's having sex with them or anything. That's entirely different.
As far as 'cuddling' and 'hugging' goes, it depends on how both people are doing it. In ways, it can seem or be very sexual. I've hugged girls before, and they were all just friends. I've cuddled with lots of girls before, but I only did so when I was single. When I wasn't, I'd never do such.
I think more females are prone to cheating on their partner than males, I remember reading an article or saw statistics on the net somewhere. Unsure whether the statistics were biased or not though..
@Throws: I used to watch Boy Meets World a lot when I was younger, taught me a pomegranateload.
EDIT: One more thing I'd like to add to this. If your partner cheats on you for whatever reason, it means she or he most likely got bored. Which means, it was never meant to be anyways. -shrugs- The girl or guy might not cheat, and still could get bored with you. So if you're seeing signs of that, either try to lighten sh't up, or just call it quits. So don't cry if stuff doesn't work out, it just means it wasn't meant to be. There are so many people out there...

Sounds like for a lot of people here, cheating is wrong as long as THEY don't profit from it. Not much more I can say without launching into a 14 infraction point flaming blitzkrieg.

It's alright if the person you're dating is cheating on you too.
JK. Obviously immoral for me. I can't think of anyone who thinks it is moral.

Cheating is wrong in the sense that you cant man up and tell the other person that they are not good enough.
Polygamy however, isn't.

I've seen it mess too many people up, especially in my family. If someone cheated on me I'd feel incredibly betrayed and wouldn't be with them much longer.

When my parents knew I am going out with my boyfriend, they said that "You are still a free agent, you are okay to go and experience with other guys and get to know them.Dont settle for the first one." When he wasn't even my first boyfriend... lol... had gone through a few boys in my time and the experiences weren't exactly pleasant. It's very hard to draw the line in that case. Because, for me, to meet another guy who is not my best male friend (not my bf) is cheating. Most of my friends think the same way. I don't want to be seen about the place with different guys at different times...I don't even dare to think about the rumours that may spring up in the process.

You're right on that. My roommate in college was really attracted to a girl on our floor. She seemed to like him too, but one day he was sitting in a cafe, and she walks past with another guy. She looked him straight in the face and kept walking. Later she was like "oh I am so sorry," but he told her to take a hike. Last I heard of him, he was in Yale Business School, and he is a really good guy, so boy was that stupid of her.
