How to bypass address redirection?

So I'm using a local internet service and they probably think they're helping me by redirecting me to the local versions of the common websites that support my language: google, yahoo, etc...
Thing is, it's annoying as hell. Even though it's fixable, I just want it to not happen at all.

So how do I bypass this rule? I'm using firefox 3.5.3 by the way.

EDIT: Also, I'm unsure whether or not my cookies or whatever are turned off, but my browser's ability to "remember" is almost non-existent.
Examples:

• Log-in remember-mes or stay-logged-ins do not work
  
• Saved preferences for google searches are not remembered
  
• Skip-this-ad-next-times do not work either

Nope, not when I deliberately try to type a different specific regional version. But that's just going out of my way. The only version that gets redirected is the common version.

Yeah, make Firefox keep cookies and turn the ''Clean my private info after closing'' off.

I believe I've always had cookies on.

If you're looking for the "main" version, try http://www.google.us.

Also try doing the following on a command prompt:

nslookup http://www.google.com
nslookup http://www.google.us

If http://www.google.com resolves to different IP's than http://www.google.us, that means your ISP is doing it at the DNS level and there's nothing your web browser can do about it.
