how do you think he'd feel about his people if he were here today?
Now i know I'm usually all *spam spam spam* but since i consider myself a "philosopher" in real-life i figure it's about time i at least make something that contributes to my self-claim so take this post with the utmost seriousness.
First off I'd like to state that i am an African American so don't say anything like "you don't know how it feels" if you want to argue against me.
Secondly i like to say absolutely hate the word nigga, niggar, nigger (wow that gets past the censors... seriously?!?...) etc... I find it to be a disgusting thing to say no matter who utters it, black or white. I also hate how rappers speak as if they're the revolutionary representations of the imminent goals of all black children. In-fact even today with Obama elected President it is still widely believed that me and every other black person can be nothing more then a rapper or a Athlete, not to that's a bad thing to be but it's disgraceful to be branded in such a manner (yes I'm aware their are other whom are stereotyped).
As well it's not even the fact we are bound by such vulgarities (much more then those stated) but we accept and self-promote them as well. Adults well past a "mature age" (such as 30-40+) continue to act like children and envelop themselves with disgusting habits and indulge in rubbish media and for what... it's all for the eternal pissing contest that is life. One person needing to be like the "it-girl" has always been a problem with our society but it's absolutely disgusting that we (now when i say "we" it just means African Americans) "protest" against these negative brandings and yet me indulge in them (i could go on forever about some of the stuff we do but you get the point with that first example).
I've always made it my goal to personally stray away from all the negative stereotypes the community has tried to brand me with. I've made it goal to become just a "person" instead of a "black person". Call me w/e you wish but i prefer to think of it as wisdom then cowardice (that's more of a personal comparison considering someone once stated that i was "running away" from myself when i told this to a person in real life).
I'm also aware that their may be "excuses" for certain situations, but what if MLK where to see us know, i fear the worst for his reaction, a man who's spent so much to help us... to only see his "work" turned into... shat
There's more stuff i could cover but i'm not 100% sure if this will get deleted so i'll leave as is for now.
Lastly i wanted to post this...
