The acting world...

So...Any aspiring actors out here in the world of Southperry? This is my second year in my high school drama club and we're doing a dinner theater type deal with "10 minute plays" as a fundraiser and then our main performance will be Oklahoma! The Musical.

So I was basically wondering if anyone here has experience, be it high school or professional, and if they have any tips on acting, singing, movements, anything drama-related.

Also... As the part of Romeo in a mini-play, I have to kiss some Canadian chick like 7 times. :f6: I've never kissed a girl. WUT I DO?

I can only provide advice here... Just kiss her dammit. If she's pretty, don't be nervous. She feels the same way, you're both acting. Be natural.

Also, I acted a bit when I was younger, don't be afraid of the stage, being up there rocks, so enjoy it and think how awesome your life is. Not everyone has the chance to perform. Being yourself a bit also helps, your character will end up being an interpretation, not a copy of the Romeo we've always seen.

First time I kissed my ex, she told me to do this "Just do it like they do in the movies, hun", and I said "K". It wasn't that hard, lol. She even said I was a good kisser. <_<; Anyways, UH-HUM. Point being, just do it like they do in the movies. Go for it. You have to make it seem realistic.

That's true. It seems a tad too prolonged in movies.. along with other things.

I had to perform 'Out of Gas on Lover's Leap' a few months ago.
The kissing went kind of awkwardly at first (I barely knew the girls name), but it was just normal on every other rehearsal.

This is why I DIDNT join drama. Im not gonna pretend to think romantic thoughts about strangers.

Id gladly write romantic movie scripts though >.>
