Good, yet cheap hosting plan

Hey guys!

For some time, I've been thinking about setting up a website. There is, however, a problem I'm facing: I need to get a cheap hosting plan which still delivers good stuff.

I'm most likely going to fiddle with a lot of different programming-things, so I'm assuming I'd have to go with something like a Linux Deluxe Plan from GoDaddy.

The question here being, is there anything around the same price as GoDaddy, but better? Or the other way around: is there anything with roughly the same specs and stuff, but cheaper?
