Video card
#1
I was looking into getting Aion for the PC. When looking at the requirements I saw for the minimum it showed NVIDIA GeForce 6800 with 256MB RAM / ATI Radeon X800 with 256MB or higher was minimum. I ran the "Can you run it?" test and it says that I can't run it because my video card is an Mobile Intel® 4 Series Express Chipset Family card. However, I meet all the requirements that it suggests for the video card such as, Required You Have
Video RAM 256 MB 1.7 GB
Hardware T&L Yes Yes
Pixel Shader version 2.0 4.0
Vertex Shader version 2.0 4.0

What I am asking, can I play this game or not if I meet all video card requirements except for the actual brands it suggests?

If you have the series express chipset thing, you probaly don't have the video ram needed. The 1.7GB is the maximum amount that your card is allowed to leech off of your RAM, not the amount on the card. It says you have enough, but if you were to play it, it would probably trudge along because your RAM isn't quite as fast as your card.

You should check out Crysis real quick, since it's minimum video card requirements are the same and a demo exists for it (if you meet all the other requirements). The demo has a benchmark thing in it to show about how it will run under stress too (just tone everything to minimum settings first).

Graphics card RAM isn't the deciding factor.

XTOTHEL is correct, it's graphics horsepower. A GeForce 6800 or X800 far surpasses what an integrated card can accomplish. You probably could play the game, but you'd be limited to lower resolutions or have a slideshow.
