Since they seem relevant to this problem, can someone explain what hyperbolic trig functions are, and what they're used for? (ie, sin(x) is used for finding angles and sides in a right triangle, and the Law of Sines, and all that fun stuff)

sin is to the unit circle as sinh is to the unit hyperbola, basically.
