IP blocking
#1
Okay, I looked into this just a bit, but really am weak in the networking area, and most FAQ's tend to expect you to know the basics.

My friend overseas is IP blocked from Nexon's products, and thus cannot play. I have seen something about VPN's, but I don't really know how that works as they are for networks if I remember right. If the goal is a proxy that allows my friend to play games like MS and DFO, what application or plug-in of sorts would help?

I hope you have more experience than I do. I can keep looking, but it's one of those "I don't know what words to even put into Google" at the moment.

It all depends on where he lives. Some proxy programs can work better than others in certain countries. Although, to connect to the American servers, I think the best proxy program to use is HotSpot Shield. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Another one could be Proxifier, if you can manage to find a Canadian or United States IP to connect with (it must be a Socks5 proxy, though).

I wouldn't mind using my own IP since I know it, and it'd be easy to just play her off as my sister or something.

I got my head on a little straighter and found Privoxy on sourceforge.net. It's a quick find though, so I'm not sure how well it'll work out. She's testing it out now.

She lives in the Netherlands. Any more information needed to help?

And off-topic, but didn't you leave for a bit ShiKage? If so, welcome back, and hope you feel better.
