Everyone I show complain that he talks to fast and they can't understand his lingo. I personally think hes the 2nd best thing thats happened to the internet, the first being "There she is"(youtube it).

This. I think he's funny as hell, but you do have to take his reviews with a grain of salt.

That said, I think there's quite a few games he would like more if he had a friend to play them with.

Silly you, he has plenty of friends to play with. It's just them leaving alive thats the problem.

As with any critic, it's of his own opinion.

I scoff at critics, even though there's a few internet ones that are funny. You ever notice how they only review and say bad things about games/movies? Because it's easy to find something bad if you search hard enough. And if you really want something, it'll appear there, at least in your mind at the very least.

That said, it's even worse that they always pick games and movies that suck to begin with. It's really not that hard to do that. And often times the reasoning is either just being really, really, nit-picky about almost non-important things, or there is no reason and just a bunch of funny metaphors, etc. Sure, there are actual reasons, but usually it's something someone can pick up on. On the cases that it isn't, it's good as a warning to not get the game or see the movie.

Sure, some points are things that we all might gripe about or know we hate, but just don't know how to put into words, but it doesn't make a game HORRIBLE. Sure, we all hate the Wii games that could be just as well GameCube games, but with gimmicky Wii motion controls. Or that the only way we get challenge out of most (Popular.) fps' these days are from that "bleed out" system. But that's why games like COD4 go one extra step to give us a mode that really appeals to the hardcore, with something like dying with one hit.

All in all, he's a funny guy, but a bit biased. I like some of his jokes, but hate the ones involving women and girlfriends, etc, because he even admits, blatantly, that he doesn't have one, and so just insults people saying stuff like if you play it, you must never have had a girl, etc. I sometimes play mindless games, (MS is a big example.) and I've got my girlfriend for 3 years now. (And yeah, sexually active.) So a lot of what he says is insulting at times. And the sponsers and ads of his even basically spell that out as his whole thing. Which to me is sad, as you shouldn't need to be known as a jerk or whatever in order to gain a reputation. Just look at the Angry Video Game Nerd, and his success. He doesn't need to be an ass. Sure, he's crude, but for him it fits, as he reviews bad old games that we can relate to. A critic doesn't need to be an ass more than they're already seen as such.

And really, his rant about party games doesn't touch on the full subject. Yes, they need to be played lots to be good at them and be able to be at par with others. But then, everyone picks a different party game (Read: game that needs practice.) that appeals to them. Be it fighting, mini-games, fps, rts, or one of the many other multi-player games. It all comes down to what you're willing to put your time into. (But I too hate being "that" guy, as I'm always "that" guy with my friends, except when I go to SSBB or Halo parties, where everyone is playing a game I never play.)

All in all, things like this are funny, but I'm still waiting for a pure, un-baised, game reviewer, for whether or not to buy games. I can agree and laugh at a lot of what this guy says, but disagree with a lot too. He like Call of Juarez, which is a crap game, so really, I wonder if his view on games depends on his mood. A critic, to me, is never the final word.

Yahtzee should never be taken as a serious reviewer, hes even stated himself that he is very cynical on purpose and that "I hate this aspect of the game so much" kind of thing gets him more popularity then a real reivew.

Same concept for people like The Angry Video Game Nerd, Nostalgia Critic, Irategamer, and so on, they're poking fun at the games on purpose, its not a review to be taken seriously, if you take any reviews seriously at all.

You're taking this way to seriously, what makes him funny is his accent, his metaphors and the fact he is emphasizing flaws of the game that are easily seen. That's why its funny because

1) You can relate
2) His comparisons
3) That hot f`ucking accent.
