After 2.5+ long years of playing this game.. it has changed a lot.

I actually started playing before the cash shop even existed, yet, I'm probably the lowest level out of anybody on this board. I spent most of my time being social.

Ah, I remember the days when Lorang Lorang Lorang was the absolute best place for I/Ls...

The cashshop was always there :f6: you just couldn't get into it.

I spend $20-$25 dollars every 3 months and I get enough cash for all my 2x exp and NX clothing needs. I don't really merchant, I just throw random things I find in my shop and MTS 5-10 dollars worth of random crap. It's much cheaper than WoW for me.

Ya I guess it all depends who you are.

I was dishing out $30 every week...

Lol, and how many of you remember this...

MTS has made meso and nx basically the same but in different currencies, and obviously people who pay money should get the benefits, keeps the game free for those who don't. If you don't want to pay money but think it's unfair that people who do pay money get the benefits, it just means you're too lazy to MTS nx for yourself. Hunt time pieces at oblivion 4 to convert to meso then to stuff to sell in MTS, or if you're not strong enough for that, sweep 19 channels of kimeras with cassandra's 2x drop, you're bound to find a 60% overall scroll to net a good 2k-3k nx every time. I haven't spent a cent on this game since MTS was released yet still find this game fun.

I remember playing Ms since the early .15 version....
Ms changed so much, I'm glad I quit it.
I remember seeing someone with a 3 dex 4 slot yellow rubber boot on basil and then i found them in scania and bought it for like 100k (:

Now the game revolves too much around Money.
Not even money, it seems that Nexon does as they please.

I have a lv 70 dexless hermit, with 12 dex shoes, 12 atk wg, 12 sets of ilbis, a zhelm, and 200m+ and they ban me for hacking, although I never hacked >_>
and I was a nx user too.

In the past, I also enjoyed how it didn't matter what build you were, as long as you had fun

I've been playing gms on and off since windia started, throwing in various other pservers/versions/kartridering along the way. I'm pretty much following around my bud i've played maple with since I started, since I can rock out everywhere we both go.
Been hacked twice on gms, and recovered very well the first time, and I'm still building back up from the second time, but I'm getting there.

..I finally admit, this game has become more NX-dependant than it should have been. The majority of the players out there resorts to using NX to:

-Get more Use inven slots for stars (NLs) or for potions (Mages/Bishops)
-Double EXP (everyone that has access to NX)
-NX clothing is waaaay more expensive than I remembered it as when I started..

I'm glad to say, this game is completely meaningless unless you either:

a) Spend money
b) Put an unnecessary amount of concentration of 'time' into this game.

Most of my friends quit over the past 2 years, only a few close ones have remained to play. Now that I'm no longer a hardcore player, I'll play around during holidays, can proudly say that!

What about you guys. How has MS changed in your eyes? No bashing or discussing of leeching, please.

After reading this, I must admit that I seem to have fallen into it as well. I didn't often consider all the slots I have bought over my time in MS, yet looking back, it was quite a bit. Having recently tried to commit to just MTS enough for a standard shop permit and the NX shades I wear (another thing I've become far too attached to) prior to the Maker's release, I ended up hammering 2/3s of my equips shortly thereafter...

When I left Mabi after beta was over, I thought that it needed far too much NX with it's rebirth crap, but looking back at myself now, I find that I have spent far too much here already (even if it was primarily permanent stuff with the constant store permit). I could have actually been in the current gen of console gaming by now if I had saved all that money .

And it seems to be getting worse. With the new taxes on the MTS, my standards of farming cursed dolls or gold teeth don't work at all. Oh, and don't count on me finding drops, since I've been cursed from day one in Sept. '05 to only get one decent drop per year. Anyway, yeah, games seem to change quite a bit over time, don't they. I've only ever played "free" games up until maple several years ago, some of them admittingly having been PS. But for an example of an old game that changed in a similar fashion, take Runescape (yeah, I know, ). Back when I played in... I dunno '00-'02, I completed everything that I non-member could do in that game; every quest, every guild, full Rune armor. I came back about a month ago to check in, and, lo-and-behold, there was not a single additional non-member quest since I had quit, yet the member stuff had skyrocketed.

I guess what I'm trying to say here is; time changes all things. Initial feelings change. Businesses must be maintained. And I need to stop spending my money on games in general to save up for my own place .

Ya know...I've only been playing MS since Sept 07'...when I first started MS was alot less NX based...Events were for EVERYONE not just those who had a ton of NX to spend in the CS...I've also played Mabinogi since it's Closed Beta days...when Mabinogi was initially released it was OVERWHELMINGLY NX based...Just to complete Generation quests required NX purchases...it was crazy...but after a while the Mabinogi world changed and became alot less NX based...pets there once purchased...are yours forever and ever without a need to "revive" them...granted they have time limitations...which I can happily live with...but MS...*shakes head*...has sadly become a game I have come to play less and less...I used to spend a good amount of money for CS clothing*it used to be cheaper*....Pet revivals and equips...2xEXP cards...Mushy Shops...but in the last year...CS clothing is ridiculously priced so I dont waste the NX on it anymore...Mushy Shops I havent bothered wasting the NX on them either since they seem to constantly have channel crashes...random banning...SC's...ughh...keeping up with a mushy shop these days is more work then grinding for a lvl...lol...pretty much the only thing I keep intact NX wise are my pet equips and a pet revived...occassionally I'll go for an invisible hat from the CS just because I cant stand the way a helm looks...lol...but yes...in all the time I've played...the changes have been for the worse in the last year it seems...MS needs to go back to NON NX based events...lower the flipping prices in the CS for the stuff that doesnt last more then 90 days...I mean seriously...I could see spending the amount if it was say...6 months...or a year...but 3 months??...I dunno...Nexon is definately taking MS in a bad direction...I wont and havent quit playing the game...but...definately play it alot less then I used to...and have begun spending more time over on Mabinogi...as well as spending my NX more on Mabinogi...as its worth it in the long run since the items I purchase never expire....

I'm spending way to much money now. Between Hp washing, vicious hammer, nx clothes, having a pet to heal me because I'm a two hit kill basically everywhere that's totally fair (honestly I couldn't survive without a pet), and safety charms so I don't lose 7 days work dying once since I don't train, I waste a lot of nx.

Another thing that's changed that pisses me off...People making like 4 chars and leeching them to level, and acting all pro for it. I don't really respect that, it pisses me off.

(Edit: After reading some other posts, I also want to add I spend $10 every two weeks for my mushie and I have upgraded my Use and etc inventories as well.

This whole 60% GM Scroll bull is making Gacha even more unfair, in addition to the Meso Bags, trade your real life money directly for mesos "we even have a sale now 20% off.")

Just an advice, next time you want somone to read what you say don't put "..." between every word. I read it and i agree with you, but it was painful to read.
