Thing about a desktop is, you're very limited, you have to stay in a single location, unless you have the time to disassemble a desktop PC, which doesn't take 'too' long, but it's a hassle to do that and putting it back at ... another location.

Where as some people (such as university students) travels from place to place a lot, and likes to 'gaemz' a bit from time to time, even at their local university! Which I admit, I do!

Personally, I would never buy anything used/refurbished from GameStop. I don't trust them. And really, why spend the $700 on that when you can get a pretty decent laptop on the internet for that price? New>Used

I only paid $400 for my desktop, and it's got 6.

From personal experience (well, I didnt get a gaming laptop, just an all-purpose one), laptops, if used excesssively die in roughly a year. Maybe it's HP's problem, but the two HP laptops I had that I used for hours upon hours a day both died within 1 month short of a year (thank goodness for warranty) so... yeah, just keep that in mind. Laptops arent made to be used as a desktop in my experience and using it as so will make it not very durable.

I prefer desktops to laptops because there's no chance of it breaking because I sneezed or something.

On a related note: if you're buying a laptop for gaming on the go then you're doing life wrong.

Here's the irony, my laptop that I use every day to log onto SouthPerry, is a HP laptop. I use it roughly about 10 hours a day every day (last Summer). During the school year, approximately an hour every day or so, weekends are about 8 hours. This summer, I use it about 8 hours per day as well, it's been about 2.5 years since I had this laptop, no problems 'yet'. XD

My first laptop (an HP) is still going strong after 6-7 years of use. When I was the one using it, I used it MANY hours a day and played MS frequently (among other things). My second laptop (almost two years old, also an HP) is absolutely perfect. She's very fast, works solid and handles anything I try doing on her. I spend in excessive of 10 hours a day, nearly every day, using her. That often includes or is solely MS.

Sounds you like guys need to stop buying crap or learn how to take care of your machine.

Agreed with Felix & Kasu. Every manufacturer makes some cheap stuff, and HP does have some high-quality laptops out there (usually marketed as business) that will take a beating and last a long time. People tend to break laptops by spilling stuff into them or getting the cooling system clogged up so the CPU burns out, so if you've had two laptops die in a short amount of time, it could be random or perhaps you should look at what you're buying and how you're caring for it.

More on topic: Frills aside, I like the specs. It might run a bit hot, depending on the processor, and they don't say exactly which one it has. (Newer 45nm are better due to less heat and longer battery life.) Paint job sucks.
