How have you prepared for Maker?

I have 14,000 diamonds that I collected a loooong time ago but then I quit and I don't know what they're worth now xP Does anyone know the prices of

That's what a lot of us are getting screwed over with. The extremely frustrating thing is that it's not just diamonds - literally ever Maker jewel except for Advanced stat crystals are unsold at ridiculously low prices. GMS is the first version to experience something like this, considering those of us stockpiling beforehand were going off the knowledge that in every other version opening week of Maker changed FM prices drastically.

What do I blame? Nexon releasing Knights of Cygnus simultaneously. Equally at fault is what they did to increase hype - every single character logging on having to watch a 30 second clip and then given the option to warp immediately to Ereve to make a KoC with a free character slot. In comparison, there was a lot of big hype for pirates, but you never saw as many as you see KoC walking around now. EVERYONE has made one, and pretty much no one has focused on Maker.

So what happens? The few who cared about Maker throw all of their stockpiles in the FM. Opening day allows for some item smegas of Reverse Weapons, which builds a little hype, but is nothing when compared to the behemoth of insanity surrounding KoC. So those of us trying to sell things fall into Great Depression mode - everyone trying to sell their stocks, no one buying, prices crashing, and fortunes of potential billions vanishing like smoke.

The worst thing is that there's almost no way to build up hype for Maker now since everyone is so preoccupied with KoC. They're fun, fast to level, and have benefits both from and for main characters. What does Maker have to offer? Boring quests and the price tag of materials, measured both in finances and time. The lowest requirement of Monster Crystal for an item is 20. Twenty monster crystals for one item? If you need 100 ETC items to make a crystal, that just became 2000 ETC items you need - just to make, what, an Olympus?

2000+ ETCs per equip, along with the restriction of one specific Gem per equip, and you understand the failure of Maker in GMS. This version is filled with people who would never spend the time it takes to get the Monster crystals necessary for an item, and thus would rather buy Maker'd ones. Which means only a select few people will be buying Gems to make Maker. If you had thousands of Diamonds or whatnot before the patch, and only a select few people buy them every few days, you soon discover why you can't sell anything.

Farmers used to dump perfectly good crops and milk into ditches when their neighbors were starving during the Depression since it was more economical than transporting them into town for sale. In the same sense Diamonds are becoming the same; if you can't afford to appraise them, it's almost better to just drop them and go on with your life.

Hmm, I was wondering how everyone who stockpiled diamonds/stat crystals for maker is doing selling them since there were a lot of posts about preparations before, while maker threads are few and far in between now ^^;

Are you guys having trouble selling maker related items like FrozNlite or have you guys had better luck?

Funny thing about hype is that it'll die eventually. In a week or two or three, ,the damage hoars will have their 120 Blessing mules set and will start burning through the jewels and crystals faster than they go on sale. The prices we want will come. Maybe not for diamonds, but that's got APQ to blame.
I've got a portion of my stash up at what are currently exorbitant prices. And I'm just gonna wait until the KoC hype settles a little. Wish I had more lidium though. I'm selling those at 500k/ore and gold for 1m/plate at a decent rate :f6: Shows that not everyone even has the skill yet or was even prepared beforehand.

I haven't sold a single stat crystal yet, but I've been letting those stew at 6/7m each, so I wasn't planning on any selling. See above for what I have been selling.

Yeah I agree that a lot of ppl don't seem to have maker, or care too much about it currently because of KoC.

Personally I've sold ~50 wisdoms for a 2 mil each and a few dex crystals at 4 mil each, but not much else.

And yeah, I've been having a really hard time selling diamonds, with the exception of an advanced diamond early on, but the demand for those seems to be extremely low + the price range is really huge in fm.
Does anyone know if appraising diamonds is worth it now?

In addition, I'm pretty surprised white scrolls aren't really selling well; i thought vicious would make them go up a lot more, even with that new box event o_O.

Nothing seems to be selling at the moment. Maybe not enough people have lv 3 maker.

Well, you cannot use Toy Drums. They are too low level. Bummer, right?

YESYESYESYESYES. It turns out that you can use Toy Drums. I now have 60 something Monster Crystals out of it. I guess I miscounted.

Yea, some of my friends and I who stockpiled are currently trying to wait it out as well. Damn KoC...had they released Maker with Time Temple, it would have had such huge hype and stockpiles would already be gone for billions.

Don't worry, I still have hope, but I am doing what many are: putting up a portion of stock for current prices to see the rate they sell at. I have prices I'm not going to sell below, so I'm sure things will eventually work out.

To allay the concern a little, I had one dolt buy quite a few luck and power crystals for 6/7m each respectively, and then a few other people buying powers for 7m later in the day. Fear not, the rich, ignorant masses cometh.

I stockpiled like 1.5k refined black crystals and thats about it.

Free 3.75b for me if I sell at 2.5m each i bought for 100k each so thats still a massive profit lol?
