Price data from versions w/ Maker
#1
Hi, I am trying to make a prediction of the future prices in gMS after maker is released. I am looking for prices of various items in versions of MS that have Maker so that I can make a comparison.

-Item list-
Glove for attack 60%
Diamond
Sapphire
Black Crystal
8 attack work gloves
10 attack work gloves
Ilbi
Steely

Also, please note what server/version you are in.

Thanks.

I wouldn't ask for solid prices. What would serve you better is -
How much (% wise) did ___ inflate after maker happened.

Each version has its own unique economy, so prices will vary by a bit. But how much proportionally things inflate shouldn't, as much anyway.

Some of your items on this list shouldn't be impacted by maker, at all.
Diamonds and Sapphires can only be used on weapons, so the relation to gloves is non-existant, and of course ilbis and steelies can't be made with maker either, so those don't seem relevant either.

What exactly are you trying to determine?
It's not having what you want - It's wanting what you've got.

All your doing is spreading it to everyone. Why would stars or attk gloves even increase.

Just a guess, but maybe he is using those items, which prices are not influenced by maker, to determine a basis on which to compare their prices to ours. Then using that ratio, he can guess how much a diamond, sapphire, etc. will cost for us.

Not sure if that made complete sense, but I did my best to explain it.

But he'd have to know what the value of those items were pre and post maker in their respective versions before they'd be any applicable use to our own values.

You could try looking around in MapleSEA forums. Don't they have maker already? I might be confusing that with KOC, but just give it a try.

If anything though, all non-maker related items should slightly deflate. Maker looks to be the most effective meso sink implemented as of yet.

Hmm. Do you think Chaos scrolls would deflate? Most people I know use Chaos scrolls on PACs and Facestompers, and since you cant make either one of those with the maker skill, how do you think that will effect the prices of those scrolls?

If it doesn't increase or decrease the supply of an item [directly or otherwise], maker won't affect its price.

Ding ding ding, and the award for 'Most Ignorant of the Month' goes to... you!

When there are less total mesos circulating in an economy, prices of everything will go down (before fluctuating up a bit, then back down, and then finally stabilising). This is simply understood by the incredibly basic logic of 'if nobody has the money, who will buy it?'. Now, with that lesson in your tiny little logic-deficient head, realise how incredible Maker is as a meso-sink, and just how many mesos will completely disappear, at, for example, 100k per identified diamond.

Unaffected? Yeah, totally.

Like with the glove attack inflation, when something lots of people have (ores) inflates, everything inflates. Suddenly people all sell their glove atk for 15-20mil, have way more money than they expected, and spend it indiscriminately. Maker isn't gonna make even a dent in the billions of mesos around, because most people won't actually appraise their diamonds - they'll try to sell them for massive profits.

New features increase circulation of mesos, because the high fund characters who hoard mesos start spending them to upgrade their gear - that money was sunk into someone's idea of "my gear is the best possible" and when it unlocks prices go up. Once they've spent their piece, got their well scrolled perfect maker gear, then the prices will start to drop - but until then they can essentially introduce unlimited mesos into the economy in pursuit of their new gear.

It isn't that they are impacted, I am using them as a base to compare the prices of jewels.

What I am trying to determine is an estimate of the price of diamonds and sapphires.

Not true- Changes in price come from a change in supply or demand. Supply of an item (say claw atk scrolls) can stay the same, but an increase in demand for scrolling claws would cause the price of the claw atk scrolls to increase (another example would be diamonds: the supply hasnt changed at all, but people have more demand for them because of the use they will have during the maker skill, so the price increased). The price wont increase or decrease unless the supply or demand change- that is a more factual statement.

I think the supply for diamonds will increase now though. Didn't really see a lot of diamonds in the FM before Maker skill was thought of. People just didn't loot them, and if they did they probably threw them out later because it was a waste of space and diamonds didn't have a big use. But now a lot of the population knows about Maker skill and people either hunt for diamonds or keep the ones they find and throw it into the FM increasing supply. Or at least I think that's how it's going to work. :f6:

The thing I wanna know from other versions, did they stock up to the extent we've stocked up?

I would expect Chaos Scrolls to inflate. Using gems during the forging process allows you to add stats to an item there weren't there before. ie, Dex to a sword. Throw some chaos on these easy-to-make items and you have the potential for a lot of stats.
