Hadn't they already chose Kurai along with other lvl 200 players little after the announcement of the Final name of the project?

Who knows if eos got chosen.. maybe she did and she can't tell us.. that's one of the rules of the MapleWatch Leaf Brigade members.

I still haven't recieved any word either way, but I know people who've been accepted into round two and will make wonderful MWLB members if they make it all the way.

I'd like an answer, but I'm patient. No news is better than an immediate rejection.
A little odd that they're sending out "overflow" letters already though. You usually don't send those out unless you've already got your entire targeted amount, or if you're looking for a polite way of saying "We don't want you" for whatever reason they're not willing to admit.

That was a completely unrelated project (Maple Mentors), limited to the Nexon forums.

Sorry to all those who didn't make it and congratulations to all those who, rightfully, did.

I hope this goes much better than Tespia did. And I'm hoping it can actually solve some big problems.

Er lets just say that even if I got accepted (didn't get into round 2, if you're a bit gullible ;D), I wouldn't have time taking care of this. Junior year of high school is a much more priority for me.

Needs Ventrillo and a mike to proceed, thus currently on standby. I may or may not pursue this at this point for a number of reasons both in life and in game; though, even if I did get in; you know how it is with NDAs .

While above is truth, I do feel badly for those of you who were so adamant about this. I hope those who make it all the way through the process are better than everyone's assuming them to be (immature individuals); but at the same time, be aware that just because they may not have accepted you this time, doesn't mean they are entirely full of incompetence. I mean, they aren't actually employed to NEXON after all. Another thing to note; if the only reason they had for not accepting you was that they claim they were full, it doesn't mean that you can't get in at a later time. You may be able to get in when they weed out those basilers and the like as time goes on.

I say don't let it get to you, and keep a persistent attitude much like how you should treat a real job. Don't give up at first sight of a turn down. (Yes I know they are cheap, but I gotta budget.)

Ewww, it requires Ventrillo? thats fail for me, even if i somehow found a way to get a good wifi connection at home, id hate using that, but at least my laptops have mics built in,

Just because one spent a bunch of money and time doesn't guarantee them anything or prove that they're better than anyone. I've played for almost 5 years since November 2004, but I consider myself equal to someone who's played for 5 months.

Coming back to MWLB, none of you know their selection process. None of you know who got accepted. What gives any of you the right to judge? Instead, lets just congratulate those who got in and wish them good luck, as they'll be needing it.

Sorry if I came off as extremely bitter and spoiled; that wasn't the point at all. Here's what I was trying to accomplish with this thread, since I guess I was unclear earlier:

(1) Announce that these emails were sent out to those who applied.

(2) Highlight deciding factors seen in application processes for anything around the world that may have applied here, but perhaps didn't. These include:

1. Money - Yes, sorry to say, but you can buy your way into things a lot in life. I wasn't trying to in this case, but I figured that my continued business would be a plus in Nexon's eyes.
   
2. Dedication - I'm been an active player for 3 years, both on and off-game, which is something many companies reward workers for. Ever hear of "bonuses" or "promotions" given to those who work the hardest?
   
3. Competence - I'm not saying that by any means my acceptance to UW Madison's honors college says I'm smart or competent, but it's some proof that I'm an adept member of modern society.
   
4. Speed - I didn't note it on the OP, and I apologize for that, but I submitted my application the day they opened their account for such emails. Similarly, college applications reward early applicants with increased consideration - they call it "Early Decision."

(3) Attempt to initiate a positive discussion over how the process may have been carried out, in an attempt to understand what qualifications Nexon is looking for to better my chances (or anyone's who may be reading the thread) at acceptance the next time they openly accept applications.

Again, I apologize if this was all unclear earlier, but I hope this helps people understand where I'm coming from. I genuinely support many of those who were accepted, as I find several are accomplished and provocative contributors both offline and on. I wish them the very best through the next few rounds!

I've gotten tons of flaming about talking about spending money, time, etc., but have you never applied for anything in life? People can literally buy their way into college - even the Ivy League. As I said earlier, promotions and bonuses are awarded to those who have been with the company the longest, work the hardest, and/or show the best dedication. My comments with this thread were by no means meant to be arrogant, selfish, or spoiled and angry, but rather commenting on what qualifications Nexon seemed to be looking for by providing the example of my personal qualifications which are typical, by-the-book attributes most look for in a candidate.

Hehe yea you should read your first post again critically: it's quite obvious why you're being flamed.

I allready posted this on sleepy but I'll do it here too:
First round was, I think, just to reduce numbers, because to have all people examined carefully, that would take too much work.
Then second round were the questions about "what would you do as a gm in this situation" which were posted here and that is the round you were really judged and the best ones passed. You just got unlucky by being excluded in the first round. And even then there are 1000s of players that would make a good MWLB'er but a 1000 of them is just too much for nexon so even good ones have to be excluded.

After round 2 there were probably more rounds to get the best ones out. Also I don't think will be like tespia where they thought "more people = more bugs get found" and they will choose quality over quantity (based on what I know about the selection process).

They should just pick random SP members. I mean, there are tons of people on here that would be great at this.

They are opening submissions again at a later date, and putting up a thread with a list of reasons people were not picked.

If you didn't get picked the first time, is it possible to get picked the second? I don't know. :f6:

While I agree with some of the things you said (people shouldn't cry over this too much), you should've read the e-mail before writing the first things you said.

They aren't going to open the registrations again for sure.
