Night Raven Wing/Stonetooth Sword Dilemma

Okay, so in preparation for KoC I started gathering gear for the Soul Master I plan on making.

I had made an 8str/120att Stonetooth Sword shortly after the Gachapon Box Event. Recently I was into the idea of making a 118+ att Night Raven Wing due to the dex req being less than that of a Stonetooth, as well as being 10 levels lower.

I made a 13str/115att Night Raven Wing and I am not sure whether I should use that or the Stonetooth (I will be selling the one I am not using rather soon to use that meso for the rest of my gear).

What I am trying to figure out is at what level does STR start taking a backseat in giving a lot of weapon att? Since Cygnus characters cap out at 120 would it be better for me to sacrifice the 5 weapon att for that extra 30 str or will it be better to just use the Stonetooth?

I have no intention of going 1h sword + shield because I don't feel like jumping the bandwagon, I like the range 2h swords give, and I already have these two swords scrolled.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

what you need is a formula that gives you the amount of str required to even out 1 weapon attack at lvl 120.. i think with a bit of reasoning you can derive it from the dmg formula's but remember, the more atk you gain the more str you need to match 1 atk

Right now im leaning more to the Night ravens wing though it wont be that much of a difference
im predicting 30str > 5atk and therefor i think ur wing is the better one.. if not for a soulmaster i would go for the stonetooth though since a lot of accuracy is needed for the latest time temple mobs and bosses making it more interesting since you have to have high dex anyways to hit them.
but since you are a soulmaster you wont need to bother with that see'ing you'll never be actively training at monsters higher then lvl 120

I think you meant the other way around, more atk means less str needed to match 1 atk.

It's a 25 DEX difference for Stonetooth and Night Raven's Wing. It all depends on your other gear.

a lvl 5 needs way less str to match 1 atk then a level 100. levels actually dont mean anything in here but higher lvl = higher level swords with more atk

seeing every dex less can be 1 str more, and seeing the swords have 5 str difference too, we are looking at a 30str difference here to match up for the 5atk

You don't need to know the actual formula, all you need to know is that str and att are somehow multiplied to produce damage*.

Your level 100 character will likely have about 450 str (with gear) and 130 att (either sword + 10att wg + pac).
1 att will add 1/130 = 0.76% to your damage,
1 str will add 1/450 = 0.22% to your damage.
Hence, 1 att is roughly the equivalent of 3.5 str, at that level.

You can do the same calculations for other levels, builds (if you go high-dex you will have less str, obviously), and expected gear.

so...in other words 30 str @ that level = ~8.5 att...meaning go Night Raven Wing? chances are I'll probably wind up going that route I just wanted to get some feedback since I know hardly anything about warriors.

Fun fact: Taking a standard class lvl 150 4th job warrior who only benefits from his character stats and nothing else except his sword, I calculated that the average Stonetooth Sword beats the average Night Raven's Wing by a near negligible amount. I took it even further and gave them both the same upgrades and downgrades, and the story was the same.

Having said that, I calculated your damage based on those weapons, and it turned out to be the same story.

BUT! Since the main problem of a warrior class is accuracy, it's much easier to get that accuracy in the form of accuracy + DEX stats, since DEX is just .8 accuracy. This is easier to achieve in the form of scrolled equipment compared to just getting 120 DEX for the Stonetooth Sword. Therefore, due to scrolling variability with current scrolls and equipment possibilities, you're better off using the Night Raven's Wing.
