101 attack Red Katana vs 109 attack Ribgol?

Which would be faster in terms of DPS/DPM/DPH? I'm training my friend's level 135 Hero and buying equips for him (equips to save for my Soul Master), so now I have a 101 attack Red Katana and a 109 attack Ribgol. I'm not sure which is better in terms of DPS.

If I go with the Red Katana, I'll also be using a 9 str 3 dex 3 attack shield with it.

Here's the ranges with both weapons :




I know that certain places (like Gobies) would be better for the Ribgol, but how about stuff like Skelegons and Himes? Which would be better for training in places like that?

Depends you use it to train, or to boss, and where you train, more specifically, how many hko each weapon gives.

The kat is abit faster, but will have a sigiificantly lower base range compared to the rib, so if you can always 2hit something with the rib, you may not be able to do so with the kat.

So yeah, it's situational.

Lunch box Swords do not exist in JMS. O_o If they did, he'd have one.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure 1h sword+shield sets need a good dozen or more attack than 2h swords to outdamage them if they attack at the same speed. And since they're both Fast (4) the Ribgol would win for sure. Especially since he has 70 base dex.

A stonetooth sword is Fast (5).

The best thing you can do is test them out. For training, if the stonetooth has consistently more 2/3HKOs then the red katana, use it. Otherwise just stick with the katana.

Lol Alright. I think at Skeles, the Ribgol is 1 hit less than the Red Katana. I guess I'll save the Red Katana for my future Soul Master.
