Question on Drk 4th job skill
#1
As I step closer to 4th job, I start to think on the skill builds and one question start to puzzles me. Assuming max MW for 10% stat buff, and max beholder's hax for +15 watk (and 25 acc) which one end up with most benefit? MW or beholder's hax? :f6:

MW, by far, especially if you already have Dragon Blood. Beholder's buffs override any similar buff (including Onyx Apples), and you're only gaining 3 attack for several points of a skill. Beholder itself (for mastery bonuses), Berserk, and MW are FAR more useful. Unless you absolutely need the 25 acc, don't bother with Hex until at least 145-150. I personally won't get it until 160+.

Note - 10% stat bonus means an extra 60-70 STR by 130 or so. That's 300-350 damage if each point adds only 5 damage, and usually STR by that point adds more like 6-8. You'll also gain some ACC as well if you aren't DEXless.

Just for comparison, assuming i might not be on bossing (aka not that much intensive on onyx apples) how many damage roughly does 15 watk adds?

You mean 3 wattk? Easy way to guesstimate is 6-7 damage per STR, and 5-7 STR per attack. Higher numbers for lower DEX, higher STR. Rough guess would be about 100 damage. It doesn't stack with Dragon Blood or any other buff, so you'd only gain 3 attack, not 15. Even if you don't have DB, you should be using Warrior Elixers anyway.

I dunno about you, but when comparing 70 STR earned from MW to 3 addition watk gained from Beholder's Hex, for the Hex to win over MW each watk would have to count for over 20 STR in terms of damage. And for Sword users, the rough ratio of equivalent damage between STR and wAtk is 6 STR to 1 wAtk. I seriously doubt that for PA or Spear users, the STR and wAtk ratio would be anywhere near 20 >_>

Ahhh this is the answer I'm looking for, thanks Biggrin
So that means MW adds more watk in comparison to hex... ok I'll change my build now, thanks everyone ^^
