Hybrid Wks

Due to the recent influx of stonetooth swords, my guild and bl have been telling me to go hybrid wk. They told me that during third job I can but points into sword mastery and booster instead of putting them in worthless skills. I would still go to level 100 with bw fire--> bw ice--> charge blow, but after that I should max sword mastery and put 10 points on booster, then get lightning charge for sword. How does this build sound to you guys?

Btw: I do have enough dex to equip a stonetooth now so that wont be a problem

Sounds like a pain. I honestly don't get why people go hybrid other than to be more "special", unless it's suppose to take advantage of a gawd-sent opportunity and you just happened to have chosen the wrong weapon. You'll have to do upkeep on two types of weaponry when it comes to upgrading as well, although BWs generally tend to be cheap xD However, if you insist on eventually covering all the charges with both weapons, you'll be missing out on a lot of benefits in 4th job.

I would advise restarting if you really want to use the Stonetooth Sword instead of continuing with BWs.

Like Kajiti said, this would be a pain in the ass. I highly wouldn't recommend it unless you wanna wait for high lvls. But even then, I still don't think it's worth it, IMO, cause WKs/Pallys use so many SPs on single weapon skills (charges, including mastery and booster).

EDIT: Think about it, not only do you have to include Mastery/Booster (40 SP extra), but also every charge (30+30+30+20). That's friking 150 SP, which = 50 lvls.

If you want to use Swords, spend your 2nd job SP on them, be restarting or resetting. It's not a good idea to use 3rd job points like that.


I'm not certain, but I think level 1-78 is currently pretty fast, due to new PQs and such. Especially starting with most of the gear (except weapon) of an existing WK, you wouldn't waste much time shopping. Also a good opportunity to rethink your base dex (if you have enough at level 78 to equip a Stonetooth, you have about 60-80 more than you need).
